Pacquiao vs. Bradley: Pac-Man Will End Controversy with KO of Bradley in Rematch

Patrick ClarkeJun 4, 2018

Manny Pacquiao will end all of the controversy stemming from his Saturday night loss to Timothy Bradley Jr. in Las Vegas when the two meet for a rematch next November.

Pacquiao won't leave it up to the judges the next time around, but rather deliver a crippling knockout that will return the welterweight title belt back to its rightful owner.

The Filipino fighter out-boxed Bradley for the majority of the match, but wound up on the ugly end of a split decision; two of the three judges scored it 115-113 in favor of Bradley and all hell broke loose.

What makes the decision so egregious is that Pacquiao clearly proved he was the better fighter throughout, tagging Bradley early and often and landing more punches than the undefeated Desert Storm in 10 of the 12 rounds.

Compubox statistics showed that Pacquiao landed 94 more punches than Bradley, who won five of the last six rounds on two of judges' scorecards.

Controversial is certainly the best word to describe what unfolded on Saturday night at MGM Grand, as Manny Pacquiao was virtually robbed of his title and seven-year unbeaten streak inside the ring.

Perhaps the only justice for the Pac-Man is a brutal knockout win next fall. He has already proved that he is the more dominant fighter and can land more power blows, so a knockout seems well within reach for the 33-year-old.

True justice for Pacquiao would be a knockout win so convincing and intimidating that Bradley does everything in his power to avoid another rematch with the undisputed welterweight champion.

Regardless of what follows the rematch on November 10, Pacquiao is poised for a knockout win—one so replay-worthy and indisputable that we become numb to what happened this past weekend.
