WWE News: Will Alberto Del Rio Be Cut from WWE Due to Recent Injury Concerns?

With the WWE dealing with roster depth issues after the suspension of Randy Orton, the company will now have to deal with the potential loss of Alberto Del Rio from his match with Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Way Out.

As you can see in the video, Del Rio suffered a rather serious concussion after having his head slammed off the giant WWE signage on the stage by Sheamus, who had the same thing done to him on Raw last Monday.

Here are the details from CoryRadford.Blog.com (via WrestlingInc.com) on the mood over Del Rioโ€™s emerging injury problems:

"

Meanwhile, WWE headsย Vince McMahonย andย Triple Hย are becoming increasingly worried that Del Rio cannot be relied on due to injury concerns. He is being compared to former WWE star Mr. Kennedy (now known as Mr. Anderson inย TNAย Wrestling), whose reputation for being injury prone partially led to his release from the organization in 2009.

"

Even though Del Rio suffered a concussion at the hands of Sheamus during this weekโ€™s Smackdown, the WWE should not label the former champion, during his initial run with the company, as injury prone as Mr. Kennedy.

In his first injuryโ€”which caused him to miss time last Decemberโ€”Del Rio suffered a torn groin muscle as he and his partners, the Miz and Dolph Ziggler, lost a six-man tag team match against CM Punk, Zack Ryder and Daniel.

As mentioned in the beginning, the WWE will need to stick with Del Rio, as they canโ€™t afford to cut loose a main-event-caliber superstarโ€”unless the company brings in some new talent from independent promotions in the near future.

With two serious injuries in the past six months, do you agree with McMahon and Triple H starting to believe Del Rio is injury prone, or that the former WWE Champion has just had some bad luck in the early part of his career?
