Euro 2012 Schedule: Start Times, Live Stream and TV Info for Day 3 Action

Brian MaziqueJun 7, 2018

Spain will begin their Euro 2012 journey with a thrashing of Italy. The Spaniards have been great in international play; they have 14-game streak without a loss, which dates back to 2010 when they dropped a 1-0 decision to Switzerland in the FIFA World Cup.

Italy has gone the opposite direction.

They have lost their last three games, and Spain will ensure that number grows to four. Spain's roster is superior and that roster got a boost with the news that Cesc Fabregas would be available.

He has been dealing with a bad hamstring, but his presence should make the Spaniards' attack more formidable.

Spain is the class of Group C and a legitimate threat to take the entire tournament. They will handle Italy easily in the first game on Day 3.

Prediction:

Spain over Italy 3-1

That's only one of the two matches scheduled for Group C action on Sunday.

Here are the specifics for all the Euro 2012 action on Day 3:

Start Times:

Spain vs. Italy 12 PM ET

Ireland vs. Croatia 2:45 PM ET

Live Stream:

TV Information:

Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN.

Ireland vs. Croatia

The two have split their last two meetings. Ireland won 2-0 in 1998 and Croatia was victorious in 1999, 1-0.

UEFA.com reports:

"

Given (knee) and John O'Shea (ankle) missed the Bosnia and Herzegovina friendly as a precaution but returned to training on 31/05 and started against Hungary on 04/06.

"

Getting Shay Given back is especially huge for Ireland. The 36-year-old goalkeeper has proven himself to be a valuable part of Ireland's solid club.

He has great reflexes, offers veteran leadership and he makes stops that can energize a club. He'll need to have a solid showing to regain his timing in order to help Ireland have a strong Euro 2012.

Croatia has won only one of their last four games, and they are a bit impeded by injury.

UEFA.com reports:

"

Ivica Olić was ruled out of the squad after tearing his hamstring in Norway on 02/06 and replaced by Nikola Kalinić.

Ivo Iličević was ruled out on the eve of the finals with a ruptured calf muscle and replaced by Šime Vrsaljko.

Dejan Lovren was named in Croatia's provisional squad but was left out of the final 23 after failing to recover from an Achilles problem.

"

The Croatians could be looked at as favorites in this match, but I think we are in for an upset here. Ireland is ready to rise to the occasion in this match.

Prediction: Ireland wins 2-0

Players to Watch:

Given - Ireland

He will have his doubters because of his age, but it's nothing he hasn't seen before. He moved on from Manchester City after being relegated to backup role behind the younger Joe Hart. He went to Aston Villa last year because he's a competitor.

This is Given displaying his dynamic reflexes:

Those competitive qualities will serve him well at Euro 2012. Given will play with a chip on his shoulder and inspire the Irish tomorrow.

David Silva - Spain

Silva has scored 10 goals in qualifying play and his dynamic scoring ability will make an impact against the Italians on Sunday. I think Euro 2012 will be the event that vaults Silva into the same category as Kaka, and that starts in this match.

Take a look some great goals by Silva:
