The surprising retirement of I'll Have Another on the day prior to the 2012 Belmont Stakes has changed the field dramatically. Many people thought I'll Have Another was the favorite in New York, but as of Saturday morning, Dullahan is the favorite to win the Belmont at 9/5 odds (via BelmontStakes.com).
I'll Have Another drew the No. 11 post position, but his removal from the race means that only 11 horses will make up the Belmont field. This could make it easier for My Adonis in post position No. 12 and Optimizer in position No. 10 to get off to a clean start, since I'll Have Another won't be next to them out of the gate.
