With respect to players like Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Nadal's semifinal opponent David Ferrer, the only match that fans wanted to close the French Open was Djokovic vs. Nadal.

These are the two best players in the sport right now; they have clashed in the last three Grand Slam finals and never have a bad match against each other.

In their head-to-head matchups, Nadal holds an 18-14 advantage. He has won the last two matches against Djokovic this year, but the Djoker has dominated in Grand Slam finals.

Djokovic's last loss to Nadal in a Grand Slam final was at the 2010 U.S. Open. Since that time, he has gone 3-0, all of the victories coming in the last 10 months.

More important than their head-to-head stats is the way these two world-class competitors just bring the best out in each other. All you have to do is look back to the Australian Open at the end of January, when they played a five-set marathon match that lasted nearly six hours before Djokovic finally won.

It will be difficult for the French Open final to match the Aussie Open, but if any two competitors can do it, Djokovic and Nadal can.
