Preview
Pacquiao is the best fighter of his generation, but his most recent victory over Juan Manuel Marquez was riddled with controversy. The 33-year-old Filipino will look to prove that he still has the blinding speed and staggering power that made him the most feared boxer of an era.
Meanwhile, the 28-0 Bradley is trying to capitalize on his chance for superstardom. This is by far the most high-profile fight of his career, and a win would propel him to international fame, as well as a place among boxing's royalty.
Both fighters are known for their blazing hand speed, but Pac-Man will have a major advantage in power. He has knocked out more fighters than his opponent has faced and many of them were much bigger than Bradley, who had to move up in weight for this fight.
Pacquiao—who recently became more committed to his religion—is also incredibly focused for this fight. He has eliminated many distractions from his life, including his casino, his bar and his farm where he raised birds for cockfighting. He has also gotten away from the late-night culture, which caused his trainer Freddie Roach to say that Pacquiao is in the best shape of his prolific career.
Prediction
Given Pacquiao's intensified focus and Bradley's inexperience against elite opponents, I'm expecting a dominant victory from Pac-Man. Bradley may be the future of the sport, but he isn't ready to claim the throne just yet.
Pacquiao wins by ninth-round TKO.
