Fantasy Football 2012: 5 Studs That You Can Draft Past Round 10

Tony SantorsaJun 3, 2018

For all you fantasy football bargain hunters: This article is for you.

This article is for the person that loves to find sleepers and wins their fantasy league championship in the later rounds.

In this article, you'll learn about five players that you can draft past round 10—and these five players could be just as effective as someone's first overall pick. You can take that to the bank, guaranteed.

Without a further ado, let's dive right in: Here are five studs that you can draft past round 10.

Alshon Jeffery

1 of 5

Brandon Marshall will likely get the majority of the yards in Chicago, but I believe that rookie Alshon Jeffery will get most of the touchdowns.

Jeffery is the ultimate red-zone threat and should be a touchdown machine.

Jeffery has very good hands and elite size as he stands 6'3", which sets him up perfectly to go up and get the jump ball in the corner of the end zone.

The rookie out of South Carolina shouldn't be a starting wide receiver in any fantasy league in the early weeks, but he could develop into quite the dependable fantasy option if he's used to his highest potential in Chicago's offense.

Greg Olsen

2 of 5

The Carolina Panthers offensive system is built for tight end success—especially when you have Cam Newton at quarterback, because he loves targeting tight ends.

Last season we saw Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey combine for 82 receptions, 995 yards and nine touchdowns. Now that Shockey is gone and Olsen is the lone option at tight end, he should most definitely rack up the fantasy points.

To be quite honest with you, I'd expect the same stats that Olsen and Shockey combined for in 2011 out of Olsen alone in 2012.

Andrew Luck

3 of 5

You'd be stupid to draft Andrew Luck anywhere higher than round 10—and if you do, then you should just stop playing fantasy football.

With that being said, Luck could very will end up putting up Andy Dalton-like numbers from a year ago: An 80 quarterback rating with a little over 3,000 yards passing and roughly 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

If Luck is able to produce those kinds of stats, then he would definitely be a quality backup quarterback that could step in for a fantasy owner when their starter is on a bye-week.

Andy Dalton

4 of 5

Much like in last year's fantasy drafts, Andy Dalton will be available in the later rounds.

Dalton had a very surprising rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals as he posted an 80.4 quarterback rating while completing 58.1% of his passes for 3,398 yards and tossing 20 touchdowns compared to 13 interceptions.

Now that Dalton is another year older, he should certainly continue his progression with the Bengals alongside stud wide receiver A.J. Green.

I wouldn't expect Dalton to be a fantasy owner's starter, but he'd be a quality option off of the bench and could very well step in as a starter in a two-quarterback fantasy league.

Brian Quick

5 of 5

In all honesty, as of right now, Brian Quick is the only offensive talent that Sam Bradford has to throw to entering the 2012 season with the St. Louis Rams.

In a points-per-reception league, Quick could potentially be a starter as I see Bradford targeting the rookie out of Appalachian State quite frequently.

In just a typical fantasy league, I foresee Quick being a solid option off of the bench that could certainly develop into a player that you might consider rotating into your lineup—depending how weak your wide receiver corps is.

Either way, Quick is a wise selection in the later rounds of your fantasy draft and has a ton of upside in St. Louis's offense.
