Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's super fight has been in discussion for several years yet we aren't close to seeing it take place.

What a shame.

For this fight to actually take place, the following needs to happen.

Manny Pacquiao can't lose to Timothy Bradley on June 9

This goes for Pacquiao and Mayweather, depending on how many fights they have before their super fight.

They can't lose. It's simple.

Who wants to watch these two giants in the boxing world fight if one loses? How would that be appealing?

It would be like the watching the loser of the AFC Championship Game play against the winner of the NFC in the Super Bowl.

It doesn't make sense.

We want to see the best go at it, not someone coming off a loss.

Pacquiao can't lose to Bradley on June 9, and they both can't lose before their potential fight.

Money issue must be settled

According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, the money offered to Pacquiao is a real issue.

“He offered me $40 million, and no pay-per-view [money],” Pacquiao said, breaking into a laugh. “No pay-per-view. Can you believe that? Would you do that? Come on. What would he say if I offered him $50 million – not $40 million, $50 million – and said ‘No pay-per-view. Take this money and be happy, but no pay-per-view.’ He wouldn’t do it, either.”

This fight should be split directly down the middle. Mayweather shouldn't receive more of the purse, and if Pacquiao did see a 50/50 split but still deny the fight like this Yahoo! Sports story suggests, yet another twist is added to this puzzle.

If both fighters want a piece of each other, and Pacquiao clearly wants a piece of Mayweather, the amount should be split.

“He talks, he says all this, but you know what: He doesn’t want the fight,” Pacquiao firmly told Yahoo! Sports in an exclusive interview. “I want the fight. I’m the one who has wanted this fight all along.”

Pacquiao clearly wants this fight, but something isn't clicking.

Bob Arum needs to back off

According to Chris Williams of boxingnews24.com, Mayweather believes Bob Arum is the person stopping this fight.

“The fight didn’t happen because of Bob Arum. Bob Arum is in the way. He’s stopping the Pacquiao fight. Let’s give the fans what they want to seem – me and Pacquiao. I can’t say who’s on my radar…Like I’ve said before, I’ve been trying to make the Pacquiao fight. Miguel didn’t have a problem taking the blood and urine test [to test for performance enhancing drugs], so why should he? [Pacquiao] If you’re the best take the test. Let’s give the fans what they want to see – Mayweather-Pacquiao.”

Mayweather is referring to the blood test he wanted Pacquiao to take prior to a fight.

If this fight happens, Arum needs to step aside. Maybe he's a little worried Pac-Man will lose.

People need to make the fight happen

It seems like everybody is doing all they can in order to never see this fight. People are ducking tests, money issues are reoccurring and outsiders continue to get in the way.

If this fight ever happens, and I'm not sure it will, people need to stop doing what they can to not let it happen. For boxing fans, we should see people doing whatever they can to MAKE it happen.
