Euro 2012 TV Schedule: Complete Guide to Day 2 Action

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

The 2012 European Championship began yesterday, and started off the first day of what will be three weeks of exciting football action.

There is a lot more star power involved in today’s games, which has FIFA world No. 4 Netherlands going up against No. 9 Denmark, and No. 3 Germany against No. 10 Portugal.

These are both can’t-miss matches and will likely make a huge impact on who advances out of Group B, better known as the Group of Death, in this tournament.

Let’s take a look at where you can watch this awesome action and quickly preview each contest.

Netherlands vs. Denmark

When: Saturday, June 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET

Where: Metalist Stadium, Kharkov, Ukraine

Watch: ESPN, ESPN Deportes, International Coverage

Live Stream: ESPN3

Preview

After an incredible World Cup run in 2010 that ended in a disappointing loss to Spain in the finals, the Dutch are looking to exact revenge. That road begins today against the Danes, and they should handily win against a way overranked opponent.

Robin van Persie is one of the best goal scorers in the world and will be leading the 4-2-3-1 formation for his side.

On the opposite side will be Nicklas Bendtner, who will be followed up by Ajax star Christian Eriksen. That formidable duo will be hoping to score some improbable goals and lead their team to an upset.

Prediction

Netherlands 3 - Denmark 1

Germany vs. Portugal

When: Saturday, June 9 at 2:45 p.m. ET

Where: Arena Lviv, Lviv, Ukraine

Watch: ESPN, ESPN Deportes, International Coverage

Live Stream: ESPN3

Preview

Portugal is a great team, but the Germans have proved to be even better in recent years. It seems like the Portugese will be the odd team out of the Group of Death unless they can pull off a shocking win or two, and they will need to start today.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the superstar who has a chance to alter his legacy if he can carry his team to a wild Euro victory.

The Germans have keeper Manuel Neuer locked in and ready to stop Ronaldo from getting his goals, but that is much easier said than done.

Expect this to be a tightly contested game that might come down to the wire.

Prediction: Germany 1 - Portugal 1
