Free Agency Preveiw: Quarterbacks

Bryan BrackneyFeb 8, 2009

The top avalible unrestricted free agent quartebacks

1. Kurt Warner: Will either retire or stay two more years for $19 million with the Cardinals. The Cardinals might not want to give him the big bucks, because they still have Matt Leinart, but only the Buccaneers have more salary.

2. Jeff Garcia: It would not surprise me if Garcia left for more money. The Bucs have been playing hard ball with him, and now that Gruden is gone, expect Brad Childress to get his perfect west coast quarterback.

3. Kerry Collins: Collins wants starter money, but he could have trouble getting it. If he does not get that money he will retire. He is more of a luxary, since the Titans already have Vince Young.

4. Byron Leftwitch: Leftwitch is looking for a starting job, and he will not find one in Pittsburgh, he could either replace Charlie Batch, or Charlie Batch will replace him.

5. David Carr: Some might think this is a little too high for Carr, but Carr had a great season. He completed 9 of 12 passes and had two touchdowns and no interceptions. Will get a back up job with some team, if the Giants would rather have Andre` Woodson.

6. Rex Grossman: Grossman will have to learn the hard way that he is not good enough to compete for a starting job. Would serve him well to back up a young guy who could get benched.

7. Kyle Boller: Boller might be ranked too low here, but after a bad tart to his career, Boller is still inconsistant and injury prone, will leave Baltimore, and be a quality back up.

8. J.P. Losman: Losman will leave the Bills and get a job some where. Shows potential, but he loses games too often.

9. Luke McCown: Solid upside, good No. 2, great third quarterback. Will not resign with Bucs.

10. Dan Orlovsky: The most sucsessful quarterback that the Lions had last season.

11. Patrick Ramsey: Good backup. Would be surprised if he leaves Denver.

12. J.T. O'Sullivan: Average backup, great third quarterback, with more coaching, O' Sullivan could develope into quality back up.

13. Chris Simms: The Titans want him in case Collins retires or Young is traded, but does Simms want the Titans?

14. Charlie Frye: Great third quarterback. Will get a back up job after good preformance this season.

15. Ryan Fitzpatrick: Will get re-signed after an up season for him, showing signs after his amazing rookie season.

16. Joey Harrington: Quality third quarterback, will go for better opritunity, but has a chance to be the second guy if Mark Brunell retires.

17. Marques Tuiasosopo: Career is starting to dry up. Might re-sign with Raiders, will have trouble finding new team.

18. Brooks Bollinger: His play was underated this season. Quality third quarterback.

19. Charlie Batch: Will retire if Leftwitch resigns with the Steelers. Looked awful last season, injured this season, that is why the Steelers drafted Dennis Dixon

20. Anthony Wright: Wright completed 1-of07 passes he had last season, on IR this season, Wright might get a chance for a team looking for a cheap and quality third quarterback.

21. Brian St. Pierre: St. Pierre's best chance to stay in the league will be to resign with the Cardinals for the vet minimum.

22. Todd Bouman: Bouman will not get a job until somebody gets hurt in preseason. He can still play, as a quality injury replacement third quarterback.

23. Jamie Martin: Martin will retire. Not good enough anymore to be a No. 3 quarterback.
