I'll Have Another Odds: Latest Betting Lines on Triple Crown Hopeful

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

I’ll Have Another will be competing for a historic Triple Crown victory during the Belmont Stakes this Saturday.

It’s going to be one of the most highly anticipated horse races in history, and it seems that every single person wants the colt to be the first to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes since Affirmed back in 1978.

That is a large reason why, as of Thursday morning, I’ll Have Another is going off at 11-10 odds to win.

The betting patterns of the public have a lot to do with how odds move, and they have apparently been hammering the favorite. It’s unlikely that much will change from now until the race actually begins on June 9, especially after the draw.

I’ll Have Another drew a perfect No. 11 spot, which gives him plenty of room to work with on the outside during the 1.5-mile race. It’s likely that the horse and jockey will hang back a bit if the leaders out of the gate decide to sprint, but they will not hesitate to move up front if the competition is moving at a slower rate.

In both Triple Crown races, the colt broke late and managed to overcome Bodemeister—who will not be participating in this event—in each race by doing so.

It’ll be interesting to see if someone decides to charge out in front on Saturday night, as they have to know I’ll Have Another will be waiting to sneak up on them.
