UFC on FX 3 Results: Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall Fight Card

This Friday, Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall will meet at UFC on FX 3 in a rematch to determine which flyweight will meet Joseph Benavidez in the UFC's first ever 125-pound title fight. In their first meeting, Johnson was incorrectly named the winner over McCall until it was discovered the bout had actually been scored a draw.

Once UFC on FX 3 is underway from the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., Bleacher Report will provide live results below and play-by-play coverage on the following pages of this slideshow. 

Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall

Johnson defeats McCall by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28).

Erick Silva vs. Charlie Brenneman

Silva defeats Brenneman by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:33 of the first round.

Mike Pyle vs. Josh Neer

Pyle defeats Neer by knockout (punch) at 4:56 of the first round.

Eddie Wineland vs. Scott Jorgensen

Wineland defeats Jorgensen by knockout (punches) at 4:10 of the second round.

Mike Pierce vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha

Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall

Round 1

Demetrious Johnson lands a leg kick and presses Ian McCall against the fence. A double-leg takedown is successful for Johnson, but McCall quickly escapes. 

A right hand drops McCall with three minutes left in the round. Johnson follows his opponent to the ground, but McCall recovers and uses the fence to stand. The fighters scramble on the ground and McCall lands shots to the body as they both stand.

Johnson scores with a kick to the body and nearly secures a single-leg takedown at the end of the stanza.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Johnson.

Round 2

McCall scores an early takedown, but he's unable to keep "Mighty Mouse" on the ground. "Uncle Creepy" lands a right hook and backs Johnson up with an uppercut.

A right hook lands to the body of McCall and Johnson follows it up with a left hook to the head. Johnson also scores with a leg kick. McCall drives through a double-leg, but Johnson quickly stands again. Johnson is thrown to the ground against, but McCall can't keep him floored.

"Uncle Creepy" hits Johnson with a spinning elbow along the fence. Johnson answers with a knee to the body. A straight right also lands for Johnson, but he didn't do enough to take this round on the scorecards.

B/R scores the round 10-9 McCall (19-19).

Round 3

Johnson lands a left hook along the fence, but McCall scores with a left hook of his own in space. The fighters jockey for position against the cage and Johnson drops down for a double-leg takedown. "Mighty Mouse" takes McCall's back briefly and lands a right hook as "Uncle Creepy" stands.

Johnson catches a kick and lands a combination. McCall presses forward and lands a knee against the fence. A left hook lands for McCall, who presses Johnson to the fence and lands a knee with under two minutes remaining in the third stanza.

A right hand lands for Johnson, who follows up with a push kick. McCall lands another knee, which is answered by a right cross by Johnson, who nearly finishes the fight with a single-leg takedown.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Johnson (29-28 Johnson).

Johnson defeats McCall by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28).

Erick Silva vs. Charlie Brenneman

Round 1

Erick Silva stuffs a takedown and lands a short uppercut. Charlie Brenneman catches a spinning back kick and scores a brief takedown. Brenneman trips Silva and takes the Brazilian's back, but Silva escapes again.

Brenneman lands a right hand and scores another takedown with three minutes left in the round. Silva escapes and lands a spinning back kick A body kick and left hand force Brenneman to shoot in for a poor takedown attempt.

Silva takes Brenneman's back and locks up a rear-naked choke for the victory.

Silva defeats Brenneman by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:33 of the first round.

Mike Pyle vs. Josh Neer

Round 1

Mike Pyle starts things off with a leg kick and follows it up with a left hook. Pyle lands a straight right to the body and secures a double-leg takedown. Pyle moves to side control, but Josh Neer attacks with a heel hook attempt.

After fighting off the submission, Pyle returns to the full-guard of Neer. Pyle also avoids a triangle choke attempt and lands a right hand with under two minutes left in the round. Neer stands and looks for a single-leg takedown, but Pyle slips out of it.

Neer works the body of Pyle, who answers with a knee from the clinch. After going back to the body, Neer lands a right hook. However, Pyle fires back with a right hook of his own and sends Neer head first into the canvas. He's out, and that's a wrap.

Pyle defeats Neer by knockout (punch) at 4:56 of the first round.

Eddie Wineland vs. Scott Jorgensen

Round 1

Scott Jorgensen opens the action with a leg kick. A right uppercut lands for Eddie Wineland, but Jorgensen answers with a leg kick and right hook.

The bantamweight land simultaneous left hooks. Wineland scores with a jab, which is answered by a Jorgensen leg kick.

Both fighters land right hooks. A straight right lands for Wineland, but Jorgensen fires back with a right hook to body and leg kick. A stiff jab by Jorgensen and a leg kick lands, but Wineland answers with a straight right and scores a knockdown with a left hook.

Wineland secures a trip takedown with under two minutes left in the round. Jorgensen stands, but Wineland lands a right uppercut-left hook combination. Again, Wineland wobbles Jorgensen with a right.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Wineland.

Round 2

Jorgensen secures brief takedown and opens up a cut on Wineland's face with a left hook. The straight right of Wineland lands repeatedly before a left hook finds its mark for Jorgensen.

A jab-straight right combination lands for Wineland. Another Wineland straight right lands, but Jorgensen fires a stiff jab. Another right cross lands for Wineland, who has his mouthpiece knocked loose with a straight right.

Wineland blasts Jorgensen with a right cross. Jorgensen drops to the canvas and can't recover. 

Wineland defeats Jorgensen by knockout (punches) at 4:10 of the second round.

Mike Pierce vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha

Round 1

Carlos Eduardo Rocha lands a leg kick to start things. Mike Pierce clinches and presses Rocha to the fence. Midway through the round, Pierce scores a takedown, but he backs out of Rocha's guard shortly after.

Pierce lands a lead-left hook and looks for a takedown, but Rocha stuffs it. With less than one minute left in the opening round, Pierce scores another takedown, but he allows the Brazilian to stand before the frame comes to a close.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Pierce.

Round 2

An early takedown attempt is stuffed by Rocha, but Pierce is able to keep his opponent against the fence and land punches to the body before eventually securing a takedown. Rocha threatens with a submission, but Pierce slips out of it and lands a left hand.

Pierce lands a series of right hands to the body of Rocha and follows them up with a hook to the head. With one minute left in the round, Pierce takes Rocha's back and allows the Brazilian to stand with his back against the fence. 

B/R scores the round 10-9 Pierce (20-18 Pierce).

Round 3

Pierce immediately takes the fight back to the fence and looks for a single-leg takedown, but Rocha slides his leg out of it and separates. A lunging hook lands for Pierce, who follows through with a takedown.

The right hand of Pierce is landing on the ground, but it looks like he's going to take this one on the scorecards. Pierce lands a series of elbows with 30 seconds left in the fight and finishes with some heavy right hands as the bout comes to a close.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Pierce (30-27 Pierce).

Pierce defeats Rocha by split decision (27-30, 30-27, 30-27).

Seth Baczynski vs. Lance Benoist

Round 1

Seth Baczynski ducks a head kick early. Lance Benoist lands a heavy kick to the body and, from the clinch, executes a trip takedown. As Baczynski works his way to his feet, Benoist lands an illegal knee to the head, but he is only given a warning. 

On the restart, Baczynski lands a right hook. Benoist clinches and attempts a standing arm triangle, but he lets it go and scores with a knee-left hook combination. Benoist also lands a spinning back kick before pulling Baczynski on top of him with a poorly executed single-leg takedown attempt.

Baczynski finishes the round on top and lands some punches, but it's not enough to steal the round back.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Benoist.

Round 2

Benoist lands a head kick and a jab-straight left combination before hitting Baczynski with an illegal knee to a downed opponent. The referee oddly gives Benoist a second warning for the infraction, though.

As the fight resumes, Benoist scores a double-leg takedown. Off of his back, Baczynski looks for a triangle choke. Benoist escapes, but he eats an upkick before returning to the guard of Baczynski. Baczynski stands, lands a flying knee and takes the top position with one minute left in the round.

Again, Baczynski finishes the round on top, but it is again likely to be short of enough to steal the round on the scorecards.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Benoist (20-18 Benoist).

Round 3

Both fighters land early and Benoist finishes the combination with a body kick. Baczynski looks for knees from the clinch, but Benoist drops down and takes the fight to the ground with a double-leg. 

Bleeding badly from a knee that landed prior to the takedown, Benoist allows Baczynski to use the fence to regain his feet. Baczynski jumps guard with a guillotine choke attempt, but he loses it and is fighting off of his back again.

After the pace slows, the referee stands the fighters up. Benoist looks for another standing arm triangle, but Baczynski throws him to the ground and finishes another round on top. 

B/R scores the round 10-9 Benoist (30-27 Benoist).

Baczynski defeats Benoist by split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28).

Leonard Garcia vs. Matt Grice

Round 1

Matt Grice opens the action with a leg kick and scores an early takedown. Matt Grice moves Garcia to the fence and passes to half-guard. After posturing up and landing some punches, Grice moves to side control on the other side and looks for a north-south choke, but Garcia fights it off with one minute left in the round.

Garcia looks for an armbar, but Grice avoids the submission rather easily and finishes the opening round with some ground-and-pound.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Grice.

Round 2

After having a takedown stuffed, Grice lands a head kick. Garcia misses with a combination and allows Grice to blow through with a double-leg takedown. Grice ties up the head and arm of Garcia with his left arm and lands with his right hand.

Grice continues to batter Garcia on the ground without any threat of submissions. The crowd isn't liking it, but Grice is putting together a dominant performance.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Grice (20-18 Grice).

Round 3

A push kick lands for Grice, who looks for a takedown, but the fence helps Garcia to keep the fight standing. Grice has another takedown attempt stuffed, but he lands a left hook on the break.

Grice ducks a wild left hook and secures another double-leg takedown with two minutes left in a fight that he should win easily. The wrestler postures up and lands a big right hand. Garcia is able to work his way to his feet, but he only has about 40 seconds to make something happen.

As Garcia opens up, Grice counters with another takedown and finishes the fight on top. 

B/R scores the round 10-9 Grice (30-27 Grice).

Grice defeats Garcia by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Dustin Pague vs. Jared Papazian

Round 1

Dustin Pague opens the fight leg kicks. The fighters clinch and Papazian lands uppercuts. Pague secures a trip takedown, though, and moves immediately to full-mount.

Papazian eats an elbow and gives up his back. After some hand fighting, Pague is eventually able to secure a rear-naked choke and force a tap out of Papazian.

Pague defeats Papazian by submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:21 of the first round.

Tim Means vs. Justin Salas

Round 1

Tim Means rocks Justin Salas with a counter left. Another left hand drops Salas, who stands again and tries to recover, but a knee drops Salas once again. A tough lightweight, Salas stands again, but he has a takedown stuffed and is finished off with a number of unanswered punches.

Means defeats Salas by technical knockout (punches) at 1:06 of the first round.

Round 1

Buddy Roberts blasts Caio Magalhaes with a right hand. Magalhaes stumbles and regains his feet, but another right hand lands for Roberts one minute into the bout.

A double-leg takedown is initially stuffed by Roberts, but Magalhaes eventually drags his opponent to the ground, though Roberts quickly stands. Roberts counters another takedown attempt and nearly takes Magalhaes' back, but he elects to stand and strike.

A left hook-right hook combination lands for Roberts. Magalhaes lands an overhand right of his own as the round comes to an end.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Roberts.

Round 2

Roberts counters a leg kick with a wild right hand. A short left hook also lands for Roberts, who fends off a takedown along the fence and lands some elbows to the head of his opponent. 

An awkward spinning back kick lands for Magalhaes, but Roberts answers with a leg kick and right hand. Another slapping leg kick lands for Roberts, who checks two leg kicks nicely and lands a straight right.

Magalhaes lands a leg kick, but Roberts fires back with another right hands. The frame ends with Magalhaes clipping Roberts with a looping left hook.

Round 3

The right hand lands once again for Roberts, who also lands a stiff jab with four minutes left in the fight. Magalhaes shoots in for a single-leg takedown and ends up taking Roberts to the ground by switching to a double-leg.

Roberts works his way to his feet without taking much damage and lands an uppercut. A right hook also lands for Roberts. Magalhes looks defeated with one minute left in this fight. The Brazilian scores with a left hook before the end of the fight, though.

Magalhaes scores with a straight right, then he pulls guard and uses a leg lock attempt to reverse positions. Martinez quickly escapes to his feet, where he is hit with a leg kick.

Martinez finishes the round strong with an uppercut-right hook combination, but he may not have landed enough to steal the round on the scorecards.

B/R scores the round 10-9 Magalhaes.

Round 2

The straight right of Magalhaes lands early in the second round. Though he is controlling the center of the cage, Martinez keeps getting countered by Magalhaes' right hand as he moves forward.

A jab lands for Martinez, but the pace slows as Magalhaes continues to look for the counter. Still, he landed the most significant strikes of the round.

Round 3

Magalhaes lands with a knee-straight right combination. The fighter trade leg kicks with three minutes left in this fight. A leg kick and straight left land for Magalhaes, who appears to have the slight edge in what has been an uneventful fight.

Martinez scores with a combination. Magalhaes pulls guard from a single-leg takedown attempt, but Martinez avoids going to the ground with his opponent and keeps the fight standing.

The fight doesn't stay on the ground for long, though, and Pierson lands a heavy right hand on his feet before the end of the round.

Pierson forces his opponent to the fence and begins landing right hands to the body. After the fighters separate, Pierson lands an uppercut and backs Hecht up with a jab. Hecht looks for a takedown, but Pierson stuffs it and lands a knee to the body and right hook to the head.

Another takedown attempt is stuffed by Pierson, who is doing a good job a controlling the center of the cage and shutting down Hecht's offense against the fence. Near the end of the round, Pierson lands a solid right hand.

An early takedown attempt is successful for Hecht, who may need to finish this fight in order to win. Pierson ties Hecht up and forces a quick referee stand-up call. 

A jab lands for Pierson, but Hecht lands an uppercut-hook combination that stuns his opponent. Hecht is unable to take Pierson to the ground with another takedown attempt. With one minute left in the fight, Hecht looks for another takedown against the fence.

Pierson fights off the takedown attempt, but he eats a knee to the body in the process. Hecht lands a kick to the body, but the fight comes to an end and it doesn't look like he's done enough to win on our scorecard.
