Manchester United Transfer News: Shinji Kagawa Will Help United Reclaim Title
Manchester United got a wake-up call this season when neighbors Manchester City claimed their first Premier League title.
But leave it up to Sir Alex Ferguson for United to roar back.
There is still plenty of time before the next Premier League season, but United's acquisition of Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday was certainly a step in the right direction.

Kagawa, who was transferred for a fee that could reach £17 million (via BBC Sport), scored 13 goals in 31 Bundesliga games this past season as Dortmund went on to win the league and cup double. He's a smart, lightning-quick player who has the ability to squeeze through small spaces and deliver daggers. On top of that, his desire to be better every year is evident. He's become a household name in Japan and Germany.
Ferguson has personally scouted Kagawa throughout the years. He was there when Kagawa swung home a goal in Dortmund's 5-2 win over Bayern Munich in the German Cup final.
Kagawa fits United perfectly. He wasn't too expensive, and he can fit into many systems, which should be beneficial in the ever-changing world at United. He can be a threat out wide or behind a single striker. He's not only considerably talented, he's comfortable playing wherever Ferguson wants him.
If Kagawa plays like he did at Dortmund, teams are going to have to focus on him more, leaving more room for Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia. He may be one of the greatest bargains this offseason.
United may have missed out on Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard, but this is what has made Ferguson so successful throughout the years: He finds gems, even when they aren't his first target.
There is still work to do this offseason, and City will undoubtedly make some moves, but the acquisition of Kagawa has to excite United fans.
