WWE Rumors: Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, SmackDown Spoilers & Wednesday's WWE News

Adam WellsJun 6, 2018

Evaluating where things are in WWE right now, everything is all about overreactions. It happens on a near-weekly basis and it throws everyone in the company for a loop.

It starts with Vince McMahon, who pays so much attention to the ratings that it has actually become a detriment. If something happens that isn't drawing gigantic numbers right away, it must be changed. When you book simply to get ratings, you alienate the people invested in the storylines.

Fans overreact to everything, as well. When there is something they like, it must be discussed ad nauseum. If something is terrible, everyone has to yell about it. This is much less of a problem, since the people giving their time to watch the shows have every right to do what they want.

We are going to give you, the fans, some news and rumors today that you can overreact about or not react to at all. It is all about how you feel when you read it.

UNDERTAKER MAKING A SPECIAL RAW APPEARANCE?

WWE is going all out for the 1,000th episode of Raw next month, and one name that you would assume to be right at the top of the wish list would be the man who was around when the show first started: The Undertaker.

You would be right, as officials are hopeful to get him to show up in St. Louis on July 23.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What would an Undertaker appearance mean?

Our Take: It is an interesting strategy to take, actually putting him on the show. He is not going to wrestle, nor is he sticking around to build a pay-per-view. It will be great to see him, but how to use him so it feels natural is the trick.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Raw Celebrations

Say this for WWE, it does know how to throw a good party. Even if some stuff is frustrating, just seeing some of the names that have been on Raw over the last 20 years will be an exciting trip through time.

BROCK LESNAR DOING NOTHING AFTER SUMMERSLAM

With WWE trying to maximize its use of Lesnar heading into WrestleMania next year, the report that he is not scheduled to be doing anything after his (likely) match with Triple H at SummerSlam should not be a surprise.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will WWE deviate from this plan?

Our Take: Since WWE doesn't appear to have any love for Lesnar, despite giving him a truckload of money for a handful of dates, it is hard to envision a scenario where anything comes up where he is rushed back.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Signs of Pain

Lesnar couldn't be happier to sit around and do nothing, so it's a win-win for everyone. WWE can market big shows around him and hope his name sells the event. Lesnar can spend his time hunting and doing all the other things he does until he gets the call.

WWE TEASING VINCE MCMAHON FIRING JOHNNY ACE

With Vince McMahon deciding that he needs to give Raw a ratings boost by showing up to evaluate John Laurinaitis' job performance, it fits that WWE will be teasing the end of the "Laurinaitis Era."

Question on Everybody's Mind: Who would take over if Laurinaitis is fired?

Our Take: I don't know about you, but I sure hope we get the anonymous general manager back. That was such a great gimmick, and everyone loved it. Maybe we can get Mike Adamle in the seat again.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 False Firings

All these teases are building up hope for the fans who hate Laurinaitis, and they will be sorely disappointed when nothing happens. Unless McMahon is coming back to television every week, there is no one else to do the "job."

A.J. KEEPS FLIRTING WITH KANE

Since WWE loves to portray its female characters as mentally unstable people who will manipulate anyone to get what they want, the current A.J. storyline is right up WWE's alley. She closes SmackDown by giving Kane the sexy eye.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What is with Kane getting all the women in WWE?

Our Take: For a character that is supposed to be as twisted as Kane, he gets a lot of play on television. I think it's some sort of psychological thing, where Vince McMahon wanted a woman back in the day but couldn't get her because he was so strange, creepy and always yelling.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Perfect Matches

There was a time when SmackDown used to be a fun show to watch. Lately, however, it has become so bland, with so little of consequence. We see everyone on Raw, and all the storylines are the same on both shows, so what is the point of the second show?
