Bill Plaschke Shows His Game by Hitting on Jackie MacMullan on Around the Horn
Excuse me, Mr. MacMullan. My friend Bill Plaschke would like to take your daughter out for a snack at the nearest malt shoppe.
The LA Times sports columnist tries his hand at playing Daddy Mack on the set of Around the Horn, and it's glorious.
I don't do well with uncomfortable situations, including confrontation and men failing badly in front of their peers.
However, I have to say that Bill Plaschke, while treading dangerously close to disaster, does pull out of this drive-by flirtation unscathed.
During the intermission, Plaschke calls out to ESPN writer Jackie MacMullan. You see, he needs to get something off his chest, and it's the fact the Jackie Mac is looking so fine that it mandates him blurting out his affections.
The two are able to go back and forth for a brief moment as I am sure Tony Reali, Woody Paige and Tim Cowlishaw are flabbergasted.
Finally, Reali chimes in to save the apparent sinking ship after Reali asks if Plashke is really hitting on her:
"If he was, it was working.
"
Dayyyyyummm!
Some may see this as an awkward moment, but I see some serious game being throw out behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, Woody Paige is off somewhere sleeping.
You tell me: Bill Plaschke—suave Don Juan of the sports world, or awkward flirt?
