Manchester United Transfer News: Shinji Kagawa Will Thrive in Premier League

Nicholas GossJun 7, 2018

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have completed their transfer deal involving Shinji Kagawa pending a physical and a work permit, according to United's official web site.

The Japanese star is manager Sir Alex Ferguson's first major purchase of the summer transfer window. Last year he spent big in the summer to bring Ashley Young, Phil Jones and David de Gea to the squad.

Let's look at three reasons why Kagawa will thrive in the Premier League next season at Old Trafford.

Bundesliga Experience

The Bundesliga is one of the most difficult football leagues to play and have success in. There are many strong defensive teams and several quality goalkeepers that make scoring goals quite difficult.

From a physical standpoint, the German league is very demanding. Only the strong players will thrive in the Bundesliga.

For Kagawa to play brilliantly all season long for Borussia Dortmund and help them win the Bundesliga was remarkable.

Football Intelligence

Kagawa is a very smart footballer and this is quite evident all over the pitch. He is rarely caught out of position and understands when to join the attack to score, and when to not go forward so his team has enough players back.

He also makes safe passes, and rarely takes chances that can hurt his team and start the opposition's counter-attack.

Adding a playmaker like Kagawa with his impressive football smarts will be a big help to the United midfield.

Kagawa and Rooney will be a Fantastic Combo

Wayne Rooney is going to be a phenomenal player no matter who passes to him from the midfield, but with a playmaker like Kagawa helping him on the attack, the United forward could reach new heights next season.

Rooney finished second in the Premier League this season with 27 goals, but with a player of Kagawa's quality, he could score over 30 goals for United next year.
