World Football Gossip Roundup: Eden Hazard, Hulk, Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi
It's a belated B/R World Football Gossip Roundup today, but some might say it's better to be late than never.
That seems an appropriate jumping-off point for the latest Eden Hazard news. At long last, the saga is rounding the home stretch, and, thankfully, our long international nightmare could be over.
First, though, there's also news on Hulk, Ronnie, RvP, Silva, another Silva and Messi.
As ever, read on for all the details.
Hazard Deal Finally Official
1 of 7So Eden Hazard really did choose Chelsea, and he really is a Chelsea player. So much for playing in Manchester next season (except away games).
We even have official confirmation from Chelsea Football Club. Sounds final, huh?
Anyone wanna take 10/1 odds that he'll somehow still squirm out of this? Anyone?
Hulk Too?
2 of 7So with Hazard signed, what of Hulk?
According to The Times (cited by Eurosport-Yahoo!), that deal could be done soon, too.
According to the report, Chelsea would pay the Brazilian winger/forward £135,000 per week. It says Chelsea want to pay Porto no more than £30 million for Hulk's rights.
Chelsea would play Hulk and Eden Hazard wide with Fernando Torres in the middle and Juan Mata supporting in a 4-2-3-1 system.
Ronnie to Atletico Mineiro?
3 of 7Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho appears ready to join Atletico Mineiro, according to the Associated Press.
Ronaldinho last week left Flamengo, whom he is suing in a salary dispute.
According to the report, Brazilian TV showed Ronaldinho dancing with Atletico Mineiro players in Belo Horizonte. Little did the AP know that dancing in the streets of Belo Horizonte was actually how the Macarena got started.
Kidding aside, the report says Atletico's press officer said Ronaldinho will be introduced as an Atletico player shortly.
RvP Ambition
4 of 7The Robin van Persie contract saga is still going strong, but for now let's turn our attention to the Arsenal striker's personal ambitions.
According to Tuttosport (cited by Goal.com), RvP wants to win Euro 2012 and then the Champions League. He didn't, however, specifically say that one had to follow immediately after the other.
The report also claimed Van Persie called Juventus a "great team."
Of course, he could also think The Avengers is a great movie and it's no biggie.
Silva Staying?
5 of 7Spanish midfielder David Silva will not leave Manchester City this summer. That's the word from "one of" his agents, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Silva, 26, joined City from Valencia in 2010. He has made 57 appearances for Spain, scoring 16 goals.
The Yahoo! report cites Real Madrid as a potential suitor.
Another Silva Staying?
6 of 7Another Silva, AC Milan's Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, isn't going anywhere, either.
That's the word from Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri, who told Sky Sports Italia (cited by Goal.com) that he's "99 percent" sure Silva will stay with Milan next season.
Silva had been linked with a move to big-spending French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi a Daddy?
7 of 7Finally, here's a bit of odd reporting from Metro.
According to the British tabloid, Lionel Messi's girlfriend is pregnant because—you guessed it!—he placed a ball under his shirt while scoring a goal in a recent match against Ecuador.
Here's the article. You decide for yourself.
But remember, other players have been known to do this from time to time.
