Randy Orton: How WWE Can Use Viper's Return to Re-Introduce Attitude-Era

Brian MaziqueJun 1, 2018

The WWE might as well take advantage of Randy Orton's poor behavior, and use it to their advantage when he returns from his 60-day suspension. The Apex Predator and Viper angle were always cool, but in light of his constant trouble with WWE policy, he should become the WWE's biggest bad boy.

Fans love rebels and performers that disregard authority. It's obvious that's what Orton does in real life, so he would be a natural for it in an angle.

Orton could shave his head—completely—sport a new t-shirt or some gear that represents rebellion.

He should return with a chilling promo stating:

"I'm the one that always takes the fall. Everyone else is so perfect, and if the WWE wants a poster child for scandalous behavior I'm gonna give them one."

He can proceed to attack each of the WWE's most high-profile faces. He'd assault them physically and assassinate their character.

He can even call out a legend or two. This would give the WWE a great excuse to dust off one of the oldies but goodies. It would be for the sole purpose of getting RKO'd at an upcoming pay-per-view.

I can hear Jerry "The King" Lawler now:

"Orton has no sense of respect, I can't believe he just did that to a WWE Hall of Famer, and on top of that his own father, Cowboy Bob Orton. Talk about a bad seed."

What would be more appalling, gasp-worthy and entertaining than that?

The WWE made a splash pushing the envelope during the attitude-era, and something tells me they may be returning to that type of content. It appears to be one of the themes of the WWE '13 video game, due to release in October of this year.

The packaging of the game talks about evolution. Check out the trailer featuring CM Punk here:

Orton's reckless actions and the WWE's approach to his return could be a springboard into the new, but old WWE.

Some may hate it, some may love it, but most will watch it. As for Orton, he'd be just another tool in the WWE creative machine.
