🚨Sabres Force Game 7 vs. Habs

Devils and Demons Upset (Duke and Wake Forest Lost too)

Mark TravisFeb 4, 2009

Missouri 69 @ (No. 17) Texas 65

The demons and devils went down hard in this one. The game was pretty much even throughout, but Missouri pulled away late to pull off the upset.

Texas center Dexter Pittman led the team with a career-high 25 points and two blocks in a career-high 23 minutes.

Missouri guard Zaire Taylor led the team with 17 points, and also completed the game clinching three-point play that put the Longhorns away for good.

Taylor drove through the lane with a little less than six seconds left and hit a tough shot while getting fouled. Missouri is now 19-4 and 6-2 in the conference, while Texas sank to 15-6 and 4-3 in conference play.

(No. 3) Duke 47 @ (No. 10) Clemson 74

Duke was flat from the start. Once the Tigers took a 15-13 lead with 11:53 to go in the first half, it was pretty much over.

There wasn’t much of a team effort from Duke and they never had anything to motivate them once they got down big.

Gerald Henderson(No. 15, above) lead the team with 16 points, and Kyle Singler was tops with seven rebounds. The Blue Devils dropped to 19-3 with the loss.

For Clemson, this was a very big win, as they are now 19-2 and 6-2 in conference play.

The Tigers shot 48 percent from the field, and at one point in the game had a 29-point lead. Trevor Brooker lead Clemson with 21 points and 8 rebounds.

Here is Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski on the loss:

“They shouldn’t forget this loss. This is as bad as you can play.”

(No. 6) Wake Forest 52 @ Miami (Fl.) 79

This might have been the biggest upset of the night.

Wake Forest (17-3, 4-3) kept it close during the first half, as they were only down 29-26 at the half.

The Hurricanes blew them in out in the second frame, with a score of 50-26.

Jeff Teague seemed like he was the only Demon Deacon that showed up to the game. Teague lead the team in points with 19, steals with three, and blocks with two.

Jack McClinton finished with a career-high 32 points to lead Miami to their 15th win of the season.

The Hurricanes(15-7, 4-5) ended a three game slide with a huge victory over a team that dethroned the former No. 1 Duke Blue Devils just a week ago.
