Brazil vs. Mexico: Players to Watch and Final Prediction for Epic Match
Brazil and Mexico are preparing to face off at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas in a friendly match that is sure to thrill the fans.
Both teams are tuning up for their run at London this summer, where they will compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
While there may not be anything of true value at stake, both teams will surely give it their all as a matter of national and competitive pride. It will be a good time for all concerned this Sunday in the Lone Star State.
Here are the players I'll be keeping my eye on when the action starts.
Givanildo Vieira de Souza, aka Hulk, Brazil
Hulk is a deadly striker who can turn the game in his team's favor at any given moment. He scored 20 total goals in 32 competitive matches for Portugal this year in both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
He's someone Brazil will rely on to keep constant pressure on Mexico as the game wears on.
Thiago Silva, Brazil
If Brazil hopes to keep Mexico's offense away from their goal, Silva will need to step up big. He's their central defender, and he will dictate how deep Mexico will be allowed to penetrate with the ball in their scoring opportunities.
Javier Hernández Balcázar, aka Chicharito, Mexico
Mexico is coming off a 2-1 victory over Bosnia, and they can credit Chicharito for giving them the winning goal. He will be one of the best players on the pitch from both sides, and his ability to score from any angle makes him one of the most exciting players to watch.
He had 10 goals and 2 assists in limited action for Manchester United this past season, and I won't be surprised if he contributes in one way or another to at least one goal in this contest.
Giovani dos Santos, Mexico
Dos Santos is an attacking midfielder who has an eye for the goal. He made an impact for Tottenham in extremely limited action, posting two goals and two assists.
Dos Santos has already scored one goal in three appearances for Mexico this year, and he joins Chicharito as the two most exciting players to watch.
Final Prediction: 2-2 tie
