Green Bay Needs Darren Sproles

Chris RockFeb 6, 2009

With all the talk about Julius Peppers and Albert Haynesworth becoming free agents, we seem to have forgotten about a little Charger that could in San Diego.

The questions would be: What is San Diego going to do with L.T.? Will Darren Sproles be in their plans of the future?

If Sproles is not in those plans, Green Bay should at least give him a look, as should the Seattle Seahawks, who were just fumbling for a running back last season.

Ryan Grant is still going to be the back for Green Bay, but no one could deny there were times where he didn't look like the back we paid for in the offseason.

Sproles can also use his size, like he did in the playoffs, to just disappear behind his lineman and give Grant a breather. Sproles would be a good addition for the already small Green Bay offensive line, too. Jackson seems to have trouble picking a hole, while Grant's specialty is bouncing or cutting it back inside and then turning on the jets. Jackson doesn't bounce...not well anyways.

Speaking of people who don't bounce...

Bringing in Albert Haynesworth is not a bad thing. In order to stop the run in Green Bay, the team must bring him in.

Why is Minnesota great at stopping the run inside? DTs Ted Thompson, you know them,Teddy the "Williams Brothers." Ryan Picket is great but you need another big boy to take up those holes, especially if you want your linebackers making plays.

I could guarantee the playmakers, Hawk and Barnett, would start to shine again. For once in your career in Green Bay, over pay. I know it is not Ted Thompson's MO but he needs to invest in order to give Green Bay a shot at a Super Bowl run.
