Stanley Cup 2012: LA Kings Will Ride Hot Glove of Jonathan Quick to NHL Title
The Los Angeles Kings have been riding Jonathan Quick's hot glove for a couple of months now, and they will continue to do so on their way to an NHL title in 2012.
The otherworldly goalkeeper has the Stanley Cup on lockdown for his team, and his opponents throughout the playoffs have only been able to scratch their heads at his brilliance.
Quick's performance during the Kings' playoff run has been nearly flawless. Before the Stanley Cup Finals, he had saved 94.6 percent of all the shots attempted at his goal and had allowed less than 1.5 goals per game.

He outdid himself in the first game of the finals, out-dueling New Jersey Devils' Martin Brodeur in an overtime battle by allowing only one single goal..
Quick's recent dominance has given his teammates more confidence in their own abilities. Center Jeff Carter recently told the AP, via the Washington Post, “He’s the backbone of our team. Just knowing that he’s there if something happens does a lot for our confidence.”
A lot of Quick's success can be attributed to his humble attitude and quite unassuming personality. He isn't out to make headlines. Instead, Quick relies on a tireless work ethic and a belief in himself and his teammates.
In a recent interview with John Pierson of WTNH.com, Quick had this to say about his team's recent success:
""I feel like we've been outworking teams and that's the biggest thing this time of year...it all comes down to who's going to work a little bit harder and I think we've been able to do that up until this point, but you know we got a great opponent in Jersey right now and so you know we gotta keep competing."
"
Quick's success hasn't given him a big head, that's for sure. He remains as humble and hard working as ever, and his team is going to continue riding his hot glove all the way to an NHL title with three more wins against the Devils.
