NBA Playoffs 2012: Spurs vs. Thunder, Game 4 Odds and Predictions

Jeff GrantJun 1, 2018

The San Antonio Spurs (2-1) and Oklahoma City Thunder (1-2) will continue their best-of-seven Western Conference finals series on Saturday night inside the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. The opening tip scheduled for 8:30 ET on TNT.

The Thunder opened up as 3.5-point home favorites in the NBA betting odds (provided by SBR Forum), but early action on the Spurs has caused the line to drop by a half point. The total has held steady at 202.5.

Oklahoma City captured a much-needed 102-82 win in Game 3 as four-point home favorites on Thursday night, after dropping the opening two games of the series in San Antonio. The Thunder have compiled a solid 7-4-1 against-the-spread (ATS) record in the 2012 NBA playoffs, with the "over" cashing in eight of those contests.

The 20-point margin of victory in Game 3 is even more amazing when you consider that Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored just 32 points combined, but the Thunder finished with five players scoring in double figures.

San Antonio was incredibly flat in having its 20-game win streak snapped—a run that began with a 107-97 home win over the Memphis Grizzlies on April 12—but the Spurs have won six of seven games after a loss of 10 or more points.

The Spurs are going to be a popular play at the betting windows due to their 40-13-4 ATS record over the past 57 games, but they have also failed to cover 12 of their last 14 postseason games as an underdog of 4.5 or fewer points.

I'm going to back the Thunder in the first half in this affair, as they've held the lead at the break in five of six home playoff games this year.

Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder -2 first half
