What The "Haley" Are The Chiefs Doing?
Haven’t the Chiefs danced this dance before? With a record of 2-14, the Chiefs owner Clark Hunt decided to make some wholesale changes.
Carl Peterson “stepped down,” which led the way for Scott Pioli to leave the Patriots' solid franchise for the instability in Kansas City, MO, and why not?
It’s not like he has anything to lose. How much worse could Pioli make things? The Chiefs are in a free fall with no real end in sight. Don’t forget that with Pioli at the Chiefs helm, also comes Bill Parcell's direction and guidance.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
When Herm Edwards was hired, there was a buzz around Kansas City. There was hope that Edwards would be able to bring the Chiefs out of the funk and obvious problems that we saw on the horizon.
The offensive line was old, Trent Green was showing his age, and Larry Johnson was all that the Chiefs were going to have left from their high-flying offense.
There was also a belief that Edwards would be able to rebuild the defense that had become a joke for good reason.
All of this happened after the hiring of a coach (Dick Vermeil) who was coming off of a Super Bowl win with a quarterback (Kurt Warner) who would have begun the season as a backup had it not been for an injury to Trent Green.
So where are the Chiefs now?
A new G.M. brings new hope, and why does this hope now happen to bring the same old thing? The Chiefs' new G.M. takes a stand and does something no one has had the vision to do before.
Wait until the Super Bowl is over to name a coach that is coming off of a Super Bowl loss with a quarterback that was on the bench when the season started.
Oh yes, been there, done that. Sort of.
With a desperate need for stability and leadership, the Chiefs hire Todd Haley. In the eyes of some insiders, Haley is a good hire. He has a good football head and will bring excitement to the Chiefs.
Others say Haley is not ready. He has too many conflicts with players. He is emotional and hasn’t learned to control himself enough to be a good choice for head coach.
To recap, the Chiefs now have a head coach in Todd Haley who was in the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback. He is an offensive minded coach who has trouble with his emotions.
Sounds eerily familiar. Remember Dick Vermeil?
Let’s just hope Bill Parcells lets his son-in-law sit at the adult table during Thanksgiving dinner this year.
As for Chief’s nation, does anyone believe Haley wasn’t hired before the Super Bowl?
The smokescreen with Shanahan was fun, though. Good thing Pioli let Chan Gailey hang out for another year. It’s not like there is a lot of choices for coordinators this year.
Maybe the Chiefs can go 3-13 next year. Of course, new coordinators will be needed. Have fun watching your Kansas City Chiefs college football team. I hear Parcells and Pioli are good in the draft.
Another year of a college team in Kansas City should make every Chiefs fan happy to have the changes that have taken place.
After all, this hasn’t been tried before, unless you want to count the Vermeil experiment. We all know how that worked out
See you at the next Chief’s coach.
I’m David Dreyer, and that’s the way I see it
