Who Am I? Suicide
Many people are complaining about the masked phenom, Suicide. I would call that blind bashing. Allow me to explain.
Suicide is the main protagonist in the “TNA IMPACT: The Video Game”. The game bombed big time.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Suicide will.
A lot of the hate comes from who is behind the mask. The men behind the mask are two of the biggest names TNA has: Kaz and Christopher Daniels.
Daniels has a very similar style to Kaz and not to mention body size.
Kaz was written off TNA month’s ago, so there shouldn’t be a real problem. They are trying to keep with the storyline people.
Daniels’ stint as Curry Man unfortunately came to an end after Feast or Fired, and instead of adding more power to Frontline (which would be a bad thing, as it would give the lesser known stars less time to shine) they went with him replacing Kaz while he is injured.
Other people just don’t like funny or masked gimmicks. The reason is far beyond me because more times than not, the wrestlers agree to it. In some cases, the wrestler established him or herself with the gimmick. Look at Daniels and Shark Boy. Shark Boy has used the same gimmick (pre Austin) since he started.
In the case of Daniels, he under both Curry Man and “The Fallen Angel” gimmicks has made himself a household name in Japan.
TNA used Curry Man for three reasons. One, Daniels was written off in the Feast or Fired (ironic that Curry man also got the boot the same way). Two, he was entertaining to both kids and adults. Last was because of his roots in Japan.
Suicide can be a nice addition, and change of pace for the X-Division, pro wrestling and TNA.
