Open Mic: Boston Bruins Community, Let's Hear It!
Okay Boston Bruins fans, it's time to write! Let's hear your voice!
Now I'll be the first to admit, lately it's been getting tough, writers block has been kicking in and I've been scrambling for topics to write about.
I mean, how many time can we regurgitate stats, recaps, and previews?

Don't get me wrong, it never gets old watching the best team in the NHL win game after game—especially after their 38th win tonight—but it's Open Mic time now.
I posted an article a week ago on who I would like to see in a Bruins uniform come the trade deadline, with a handful of responses.
Wayne Whittaker gave his insight on the Tuukka Rask/Manny Fernandez situation here in Boston, and it was awesome to read his thoughts about it.
Another writer who continues to amaze me is Revo Boulanger. Every article he posts is a "must read", especially the controversial, "Do The Bruins Need a New Rivalry".
I just wrote a piece about the Bruins road-win tonight, and their tough road schedule this month, on another site that I write for.
I personally think this month is absolutely paramount for the Black and Gold. We have three back-to-back away/away games in this short 28-day month. We play 14 games in 28 days and only five of them at home.
So, now that I have given you all some ideas: What do you think?
I think that since Boston is the best team in the NHL, we need to be the best NHL community here on B/R.
Here's what I propose.
Similar to the NHL Monthly Awards given out by Alan Bass here on B/R, I will also give out an "award" to a writer in the Boston Bruins Community. Here's what I'm thinking...
1. Individuality and Objectivity: Your personal voice.
2. Controversy: ie: Trading away some of our UFA/RFA for other players.
3. Consistency: Recaps etc. are good, but...
I will post another article on Mar. 1 for a community-vote, for the top-two writers.
That's the day after the Bruins/Caps contest, and two-days before the next game (Flyers at Boston).
The two-winners, by community vote....
- Will be noted here on B/R as the first "Boston Bruins Awards Winners."
- All of your work(s) will be directly linked to my articles on Examiner. (for the month of March)
- I will post your own B/R - RSS feeds, or your personal website/blog directly on my Examiner page. (for the month of March)
So Bruins fans, keep the motors runnin', and headline every contesting article beginning with Boston Bruins "Open Mic".
Good luck, and let's hear it!
