England vs. Norway Live Stream: Where to Catch Friendly Clash

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

England and Norway will get together for a friendly, which means the final score will not matter towards any sort of relevant competition. That does not mean that the competition will be irrelevant though, as there is much to accomplish—especially for England.

This is the time of the year when we turn our attention away from league play—which concluded in an epic Champions League final win by Chelsea—and focus our eyes on national teams.

With Euro 2012 literally right around the corner, this friendly is going to be huge. Norway hasn't qualified for the tournament, but England is right in the thick of things and has a new manager running the show in Roy Hodgson.

You better believe this friendly is going to be huge for Hodgson and his national team, as it will mark the first time he coaches them in a game situation, and we'll be able to see how he plans on running things.

With a plethora of notable Chelsea players not playing in this matchup and Wayne Rooney on suspension for the first two matches of the tournament, it will be interesting to see how this team eventually comes together under their new boss.

As I said, while this is just a friendly, there is much to accomplish.

Most Important Player for Norway: Moa Abdellaoue

Striker Mohammed Abdellaoue is the guy you're going to watch on the Norway side, as he has the ability to be quite a prolific scorer. According to a Sky Sports preview on supersport.com, you won't be the only person watching Abdellaoue:

"

Hannover striker Moa Abdellaoue is set to lead the line for Norway having attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs following his displays for club and country this term, with a number of scouts due to watch him in action.

"

With Premier League attention on him, Abdellaoue is undoubtedly going to want to feature himself as best as he can, so I expect a good game out of him. He scored 11 goals in 28 games in the German Bundesliga in 2011-12 and scored a total of 19 goals in all of his 2011-12 play with Hannover 96 and Norway.

He's obviously a talented player, and he should play a big role in this friendly.

Most Important Player for England: Steven Gerrard

Gerrard is the captain of the England side and has an important role to play in this friendly. While the score may not matter, preparing for the upcoming Euro 2012 tournament certainly does.

With a new manager, a plethora of teammates not playing in this game due to suspensions, celebrations or injuries, Gerrard is going to have to make sure that his side stays on track and is able to come away from this match with something positive.

Leadership is going to be key for England if they want to make a big Euro 2012 run, so Gerrard is going to have to implement that right away with this team.

The score doesn't matter as much as the preparation, and that's going to depend on the leadership on the field.
