Anderson Silva: Do Yourself a Favor...

Pound for pound best. A term that has been thrown around for some time now. I am not here to debate it. I am just here to tell Silva to do himself a favor.

I was on sherdog today. I saw the pound-for-pound rankings.

The top three were:

1) Silva

2) GSP

3) Fedor

I have no arguments with that. no matter what sherdog says or i say or who ever there will always be different opinions. GSP, I believe, is one win away from being the best (in my eyes any way). Fedor is one win away from having no choice but to go to the UFC to continue his quest for "best ever."

Silva is running out of middleweights to beat. For crying out loud, Thales Leites?

I know the man is on a five-fight win streak, but I think its safe to say Anderson has got this in the bag. I am not trying to say that the middleweight div has no talent. On the contrary, it is very talent filled. But Anderson is clearing it out faster then they can fill it.

Anderson needs to ask himself a question.

"Do I want to be the best middle weight? Or do I want to be the BEST, PERIOD."

If he wants to do this, he needs to move back to 205. He had a GREAT debut there. Granted, James Irvin is no Jackson, Evans, or Griffin. But it was a start. His main reason not to go up is because of his good friend Machida, who should be up for a shot.

But Anderson needs to set that aside and go up there and prove he is the greatest of all time.

Think of the matchups. Jackson, Machida, Jardine, Griffin. I can see him wining all those. But he needs to make a move and make it fast. The only real challenge left is if GSP decides to step up.

If he can move to light heavyweight and clear it out like he did the MW, then in no way could one argue he isn't the greatest.

For now though, it looks like he will face Leites. Then avenge his last loss to Okami. Then perhaps GSP. Hopefully after that, he will wise up and go to 205 and take a piece of immortality.

GSP is nipping at your heels for the greatest. And if Fedor goes to UFC, there is another problem. Leave doubt in no ones eyes. So please, do yourself a favor, Silva. Go to 205. He can do it.

The question is: Will he?
