Pacquiao vs. Bradley Predictions: Desert Storm Will Spoil Mayweather Dream Fight

Ben ChodosJun 7, 2018

Timothy Bradley is going to take advantage of Manny Pacquiao's lack of focus and win the welterweight boxing title.

Pacquiao, the current champion, has skipped out on training sessions and made controversial comments in the media, while Bradley has been training like a madman.

Pac-Man came out against gay marriage and said this in an interview with Granville Ampong of the Examiner:

"

God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other. It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of Old.

"

Pacquiao would later clarify his comments and state that this was simply his personal opinion and that he harbored no hateful feelings against gay people.

While his statements reflect a religious sentiment that many agree with, he should know better than to comment on such a controversial topic. Getting into this issue can only create distractions, and Pacquiao has more important matters to deal with.

While all this was happening, Bradley continued his manic training sessions in his quiet desert hometown of Palm Springs, Calif.

According to MyDesert.com, a local news outlet for Bradley, the boxer's training sessions start with a 10-mile run. They then consist of the following:

"

Three days a week, Bradley spars against three boxers, rotating them after every two rounds so he's always facing a fresh fighter. Bradley tops off his workouts with jumping rope, the speed bag and agility drills to culminate a training day that typically goes five hours.

"

Bradley's home-based workout routine has clearly done him well in the past. The 28-year-old is 28-0 in his career.

He is in the middle of his prime, while Pacquiao is 33 years old. Bradley is in peak physical condition and knows how to play to his strengths.

Bradley's name may not carry the weight of some of Pacquiao's past opponents like Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley, but his punches will hurt just as much.

Pacquiao does not appear to be giving Bradley the credit he deserves. If the champ fails to eliminate distractions, Bradley has all the right tools to pull off an upset.

This is exactly what the boxing world does not want to happen, as fans have been waiting for years to see Pacquiao go up against Floyd Mayweather.

The bout will be a good test for Pacquiao. He will find out if he's still capable of dealing with controversy in the media and still defeating a good fighter.

The world will know if Pac-Man is capable of this on June 9, but right now, he appears to be failing the test.
