"Columnist" For Bleacher Report a Hatemonger
Sirs, Madams, & Others(?) of Bleacher Report:
Public relations certainly IS more an art than a science. Ask John McCain, or any other losing presidential candidate (or any other unsuccessful candidate for national office for that matter), and they will likely tell you (if they are completely honest) about one or two - usually one - key public relations blunder(s) that literally cost him/her the election.
Politics aside, and actually (on the part of this participant/reader) pushing politics and current (news) events intentionally back in favor of non-partisan matters like SPORTS, I nonetheless present to you my very FIRST response from a "columnist" member of "BleacherReport.com:
You are a f***ing f***et. You fail at life and you should jump off a seaside facing cliff and land on the biggest, most pointed rock.
(Date//"one day ago" reflects time of retrieval...I took some extra time to reflect on this matter.)
So I immediately asked myself what this guy has going for himself from behind his rather pathetic self portrait with a CARTOON character? Although I am a 49 year old veterinarian who nonetheless works hard to keep his 6' 3" 220# physique partially preserved by playing 'pick-up basketball twice a week against people less than half my age, who does THIS GUY think he is? My wife of 27 years and I have 4 children from 23 years to 7 years old)
...and why am I involving myself with a website that seems to accede to denigrating itself with self aggrandizing "columnists" (let alone members) whose apparent sole motivation in reciting fact and/or fiction is to compensate for their own vexing inadequacies?
I constructed a fictitious, speculative set of dialogues meant to entertain readership and indict (Cardinal) ownership for being significantly less fan-centric than what a venerable, successful franchise such as exists in St. Louis, deserves!
Within hours of these posts, I received the above derogatory message. I WOULD simply laugh and avoid ever returning to the site ever again, but THIS “columnist” is building and soliciting accolades from peers and unnecessarily and egregiously polluting the internet (let alone this blog) with his vile communications as a sort of double personality,
Don't get me wrong, small man, I'd rather you rail on ME than have you beat your cat, dog, child, or wife!
And although one isolated (or not) outburst of vile/sleaze may not necessarily be terribly representative of the actual pathology in your intellect, it IS a troubling indication of the sort of egregious posts that Joel Koch is not only capable of, but prone to (when not so many others are watching/reading).
All things considered, though, it IS a bit ironic that the name of this website is "Bleacher report", because as any experienced baseball fan can attest, sitting yourself and your family "in the bleachers" CAN VERY WELL expose children to language and conversational topics not spontaneously brought up over the dinner table. So maybe exposing oneself to the bleacher report is akin to driving through hard core gang territory, and requiring the WHOLE family to volunteer periodically in soup kitchens and drug rehab centers!?!
I would like to know what BleacherReport.com's response is to this unsolicited assault, when the character flinging out indiscriminate insults looks awfully sexually ambiguous in the first place...cartoon man! And being as how Sportsline.com graciously lists Bleacherreport.com's content and budding columnists' material right on the face page for major league teams, what would CBS's view be on flagrantly unsolicited spewing of offensively targeted offensive material?
In summary and in conclusion, I am simply wondering whether such insult and berating of new persons and/or columnists, etc. (and/or existing/old ones), is the policy and unstated and/or unstated manner with which you choose to communicate...like fraternity brothers who've know each other for 30-50 years? Certainly, I DO have friends and frat brothers with whom I feel comfortable jostling and teasing in such a manner because we already have a relationship.
Joel Koch seems to me to be the sort of self promoting bloviator who has nothing better to do than to offend others and therefore elevate his own fragile (but inappropriately huge) ego. I'll agree to write some articles if it might mean not having to look at his sad photo when perusing your site...
Thank you, BleacherReport.com and any/all honorable staff, members, columnists, etc., for your consideration...I look forward to your response.
