This year's champion Matt Kuchar use to live in Ponte Vedra Beach and his parents still do. Join Reistetter as he introduces you to some of the "People of THE PLAYERS."

Early in the week you never know who you will find on the grounds of the Stadium Course. Here first-time PLAYERS attendee Merri Daniel meets and chats with 1985 PLAYERS Champion Calvin Peete.

The Friendly Grounds of TPC Sawgrass...

TPC Sawgrass is a friendly place whether at Happy Hour in Nineteen or out playing golf. Friendly yes, but maybe not so fair out on the golf course, whether it is on the Stadium or Dye's Valley. If you have walked along the west side of the Clubhouse Officer Hill has likely greeted you with a "hello, how are you doing today?"

Military Appreciation Day

Wednesday is Military Appreciation Day and the Clubhouse is adorned with the American Flag and banners of all five branches of the Military. This year's ceremony was a salute to the National Guard and a tribute to America's Volunteers. There was an F-15 flyover and a Luke Bryan concert.

Military Outpost

Every day at THE PLAYERS honors the Military with free admission to the tournament all week for all active duty, retired and reserve military personnel, and their dependents. They also enjoy complimentary food and beverages in an air-conditioned environment at the Patriots’ Outpost on the hill overlooking the 18^th fairway.

Freedom Friday

Friday is Freedom Friday in North Florida. Jack Aschenbach (with white hat) is the President of the Northern Chapter of the North Florida Section of the PGA of America. The chapter's program of simply wearing a red shirt on Friday to remember the troops is now a national program. 100% of the profits from each chapters Freedom Friday red shirt sold goes to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Foursome of Fun!

Drinking foursome along 18^th fairway on Friday (cut day). Some make it to the weekend, some do not. People have a good time at THE PLAYERS, with or without alcohol.

Stokes Hill

Stokes Hill was announcing players on the 10^th tee on Thursday and Friday. Here with the author is a mighty golfer who can snap a hickory-shafted golf club with one swing. Stokes is one of the all-time good guys of Ponte Vedra Beach!

Every day is Family Day at THE PLAYERS. You have to like the sunglasses.

Jelly Going into the Hall of Fame!

Richard "Jelly" Hansberry will be inducted into the African American Golfers Hall of Fame on May 27^th. From Washington D.C. Jelly has caddied on the pro tour since 1970 and is a welcoming sight to players and caddies as they approach par-3 holes on tour.

Jelly gets the club information for the broadcast and is frequently seen, most notably on No. 16 at Augusta National. Here with the author on the par- 3 13^th at TPC Sawgrass is the newest member of the AAGHOF!

Craig Perks 2002 PLAYERS Champion

Craig Perks, now a golf broadcaster working on the 17^th tee. Ten years after his "chip-in," when he only needed one putt over the last three holes to win in 2002. Must be a special feeling in a special place!
