There have been 13 tournaments and nine different champions thus far. Some would think this tournament to be dominated by the likes of England, Spain and France, but the Euro Cup is no stranger to upsets.

Here's a look at the most dangerous teams in this year's competition.

Germany

Giants in this competition and the only three-time champions, the Germans enter this year's tournament with a talented squad and a great chance to win.

They're a complete team with a good mixture of veteran and youthful players led by the likes of Mario Gomez, Mesut Ozil, Bastian Schweinsteiger and captain Philipp Lahm.

They won't have any easy matches playing in Group B (Netherlands, Portugal and Denmark), but that will only make them stronger.

This team is about deep and talented as any in the world right now.

Spain

The reigning champions, Spain enters the Euro 2012 off a World Cup victory in 2010.

They're easily the most talented team in the world right now with a group of midfielders who currently star for the likes of Barcelona (Andres Iniesta, Thiago Alcantara, Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Busquets), Chelsea (Juan Mata), Real Madrid (Xabi Alonso) and Manchester City (David Silva).

With so many weapons, Spain are never thought to be out of game and could dominate through the early part of this competition as they play in a weak Group C (Ireland, Italy, Croatia).

Netherlands

Led by captain Mark van Bommel, KNVB comes into this year's tournament with one of the hottest strikers in the world in their side.

Robin van Persie has been scoring at will for Arsenal this season and will be fresh seeing as the Gunners' season ends early next week.

With superior talents like Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben also in the side, this team is going to be a handful for any opponent.

Netherlands unfortunately drew into Group B with Germany and Portugal, so they'll certainly be tested early.
