Premier League Cutting Down on Illegal Streaming

The English Premier League are cutting down on websites which illegally stream Premier League matches, the first victim has been myp2p.

Myp2p currently have this written up on their site:

"Because of pending legal proceedings, Myp2p has removed all links in the following competions:  Elitserien - SM-Liga - NHL - Swedish Allsvenskan - Italian Serie A - Premier League - Dutch Eredivisie. Once a judgment has been given, we will notify you of the outcome."

Many people who watch illegally streaming matches watch them because they cannot afford to pay the high amounts that you have to pay to watch the matches.

It will be incredibly difficult to get all of the sites removed especially because most of the sites aren't English sites. Most of the sites are run from the middle east and that will prove difficult for the Premier League.

With all of the problems the middle east have right now, why would they care about a few people setting up some websites with illegal streaming?

I would love to know whether or not charges could come to the people who download the software and watch the illegal streams.

I think it is practically impossible for all sites to be removed whether they are steaming sports or movies, is the Premier League wasting time and money?

Do I agree with illegal steaming? The answer to that is, I'm not sure. I can afford to pay for SkySports and Setanta, but many can't and if the only way they can watch their team is to watch it illegally, and with a bad picture is it so bad?
