It was originally reported that WWE Films' The Marine: Homefront, a third installment to the somewhat popular series of films, would feature Randy Orton as its star. Orton would be pulled, however, due to protests about Randy's prior military history.
There has been speculation as to who would replace Orton, and now we have our answer.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reports that Mike "the Miz" Mizanin will star in the movie.
PWInsider.com has confirmed that The Miz will be the star of WWE's The Marine: Homefront, which will begin shooting this June in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Miz replaces Randy Orton as the star of the film, playing a Marine trying to rescue his kidnapped daughter from a terrorist.
The Miz is an interesting choice in that absolutely nothing about the former Real World star and WWE Champion screams "Marine." That said, he was more than impressive in his appearance on USA Network's Psych and is a great media ambassador for the company.
The company has yet to make the announcement official, so things could change at any point.
