NBA Playoff Predictions 2012: Los Angeles Clippers vs. Memphis Grizzlies, Game 2

The Los Angeles Clippers (1-0) and Memphis Grizzlies (0-1) will continue their best-of-seven Western Conference series on Wednesday night at the FedExForum, with the opening tip scheduled for 9:30 ET on TNT.

Las Vegas oddsmakers have established the Grizzlies as six-point home favorites, while the total has fallen by two points to settle in at 185 across the board.

Los Angeles stunned Memphis by capturing a 99-98 win as five-point road underdogs in Game 1 on Sunday night, outscoring the home team by a 35-13 margin in the fourth quarter. The Clippers certainly created a lasting memory for fans in their first trip back to the NBA playoffs since the 2005-06 season.

The Clippers will now look to improve upon their 5-3 record this season when playing with on two days rest. The "over" is 6-2 in that situation.

Memphis might not be able to recover from suffering such a shocking defeat. The upstart franchise has won eight of 10 games this year when playing as a home favorite of 3.5 to six points. They also managed to lose back-to-back home games only once during the regular season.

Sports bettors need to be wary of laying the points in Game 2, with the shell-shocked host being 2-5 against the spread when revenging a home loss versus an opponent. Of course, the Clippers could be emotionally spent after the series opener.

I suggest playing the Grizzlies on the money line (-290) if you're looking for some action to close out Wednesday's NBA schedule.
