WWE Extreme Rules 2012: Layla and Zack Ryder Being Paired Together on TV?

Drake OzJun 5, 2018

The last time that Zack Ryder had any sort of on-screen relationship with a WWE Diva, he wounded up getting stuck in the friend zone, being chokeslammed through the Raw stage, losing at WrestleMania 28 and being kicked in the private parts.

Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped Ryder from trying to find a new woman to replace Eve Torres, who—for all intents and purposes—broke Ryder’s heart and put a halt to his rising career.

So, which lucky lady could be paired up with Ryder soon? Let’s find out.

"

WWE Divas Champion Layla and Zack Ryder have been commenting back and forth on Twitter since she returned at Extreme Rules last night. There were rumblings back around WrestleMania 28 that Layla would be returning to side with Ryder in his feud against Eve Torres.

"

While I think that a possible Ryder/Layla pairing could have worked a month or two ago, I just don’t see this back and forth Twitter banter between the two being anything more than a tease now.

Judging by his interference in Kane’s match at Extreme Rules, Ryder seems to be headed for a feud with the Big Red Monster. Finally!

Meanwhile, Layla just won the Divas Championship after returning last night and will probably have her hands full with a number of potential challengers for the foreseeable future.

Of course, we also have to take into consideration that the beef between Ryder and Eve has slowly but surely been fading away.

It’s there, sure. But there’s not as much to their rivalry as there was just a month ago, and at this point, I think they should just go their separate ways.

Let Ryder feud with Kane, and let Layla feud with someone else.

I guess that Layla could indeed feud with Eve, but it seems like that, in turn, would mean that Kane would have to be paired up with Eve to make this feud work well.

A Kane/Eve pairing? Kind of awkward, huh?
