NFC South Morning Jog: Deciphering the NFL Draft
Each morning, I like to start the day off with a workout—usually a morning jog. I can clear my head, plan my day and think about what's going on around the NFC South.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Don Banks gave high praise for the first three picks of the Tampa Bay draft last weekend.
After the draft, Tampa Bay's roster has a few position battles that will soon heat up, specifically linebacker and running back.
Atlanta Falcons
Everyone has questions after any NFL draft. D. Orlando Ledbetter asked his about the Falcons weekend. His top noodler; Will Ovie Mugheli be back at fullback in 2012?
Carolina Panthers
Tom Sorensen doesn't hand out draft grades. Instead, he'll just tell you how he feels, and he's not keen on the Panthers' first-round selection of Luke Kuechly.
After being frustrated because he couldn't trade his way into the fourth round, according to Joe Person, Carolina general manager Marty Hurney focused on Saturday's draft options and got what he wanted.
New Orleans
An interesting take here by Jeff Duncan who said the rest of the NFC South is playing catch up to the Saints because they took mostly defensive players in the draft.
Looking at winners and loser of the 2012 NFL draft, Jason Cole plopped New Orleans down on the "losers" side.
NFC South
Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated graded every team and felt Carolina and Tampa Bay both had great weekends, Atlanta was just average, and New Orleans barely passed.
