Tracking Indianapolis Colts' 2012 NFL Undrafted Free-Agent Signings

Undrafted free agents are an important roster-building tool for NFL teams. Most of the players signed after the draft won't make NFL rosters, but a couple from every team will.

Scouting Report:

A former walk-on without great speed, Whalen is a good route runner. Obviously, his familiarity with Andrew Luck is a bonus.

Chances of making final roster: 15 percent

The Colts have Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie, Donnie Avery and just drafted T.Y. Hilton and LaVon Brazill. The odds of Whalen beating out any of those players is long at best.

James Aiono, DT, Utah

Aiono has battled injuries and was not productive in college.

Odds of making final roster: Less than five percent

Chris Galippo, Linebacker, USC

Galippo is undersized and had injury troubles in college. He wasn't a regular starter at USC.

Micah Pellerin, Cornerback, Hampton

Pellerin has trouble in coverage and isn't very good in run support. He translates as a free safety in the NFL.

Antonio Fenelus, Cornerback, Wisconsin

Fenelus was highly productive in college and was All-Big 10. He's not big, but he loves to tackle and play special teams.

The Colts aren't deep at corner, and Fenelus has a chance to make a name for himself.

Cameron Chism, Cornerback, Maryland

Chism has the right size and speed to play corner in the NFL but is very raw. If he can learn proper technique, he could be a diamond in the rough for a team in need of corners.

Buddy Jackson, Defensive Back, Pittsburgh

Similar to Chism, Jackson looks the part of an NFL corner but has a lot to learn about the position. He's an athlete who needs to learn to be a disciplined defensive back.

Hayworth Hicks, Guard, Iowa State

Hicks is a big, mauling guard. He's got great size and is a terrific run blocker.

The Colts are looking for big run blockers, and if he comes in and makes an impression, he could steal a backup spot.

Steve Baker, OT, East Carolina

Baker stands 6'8" and weighs more than 300 lbs. He's a big, strong tackle, but his height may mean it's difficult for him to get leverage at the next level. He's very fast and is an intriguing prospect.

Jason Foster, Offensive Tackle, Rhode Island

Foster has excellent size and good college production as a run-blocking tackle.

Jabin Sambrano, Wide Receiver, Montana

Sambrano ran a 4.4 40 at his pro day. He is fast and was productive in college.

Matt Merletti, Safety, North Carolina

He's a potential free safety, who is better in coverage than against the run. He's still learning the safety position and has solid measurables, but he has battled injury issues.

Brian Stahovich, Punter, San Diego State

One of the nation's top punters, he was first team all-MWC in 2010.

Odds of Making the Final Roster: 0% (unless Pat McAfee gets hurt)

Kevin Eagan, Defensive End, Endicott

He played at a former women's college. He's 6'4", 276 lbs.
