WWE Extreme Rules 2012 Match Card: Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show Feud Alive and Well
The symbolic battle between the Old Guard of Big Show and the Young Guns of Cody Rhodes took another thrilling turn at WWE Extreme Rules on Sunday, one that figures to perpetuate an ever-growing feud for weeks (if not months) to come.
Rhodes recaptured the Intercontinental title that Show had wrenched from his waist at WrestleMania XXVIII earlier this month.
Which would've been a decent way to settle things, if not for Show's attack on Rhodes after the belt had already changed hands.

Show's frustration was certainly understandable. After all, he'd been the Intercontinental champion for all of four weeks and dominated Rhodes for the majority of the match. If not for one (significant) misstep—onto a ringside table that caused said table to break—he'd probably still have that belt in his possession.
Surely now, the pendulum of taunting that's swung back and forth between these two will once again sit in Cody's corner. Show might've gotten in the final shots in this edition of their ever-more-rancorous feud, but it's Rhodes who, for now, will have the last laugh.
After all, that's the reward that comes with taking the title back from a hated adversary, even if the result comes as cheaply and technically as this one did.
There's little doubt, too, that this episode won't go down as the last between Show and Rhodes. Show may be old, but he's not about to let the Intercontinental title go without another fight.
One that actually counts, of course. Not the sort that comes after the bell.
