Keeper
1 of 5Petr Cech: 6.5
Petr Cech had a rather uneventful outing at Stamford Bridge. While he did have 13 shots blasted his way throughout the match, only two were on target.
The one goal that got past him was largely the fault of the defenders, who practically gave the ball to the QPR defenseman and then let him cross the ball to Cisse.
On the whole, Cech did his job as keeper for Chelsea today.
Defenders
2 of 5John Terry: 8.0
Terry scored the second goal of the match and played very solid defense. The Chelsea defense has been like a brick wall in the past few matches. After his sending off at Camp Nou in the Champions League Semifinals, he redeemed himself today.
Jose Bosingwa: 7.0
Bosingwa started the match as defender because of Chelsea's long injury list and that Ivanovic is serving his suspension for a yellow card against Wigan. He did his part as defender, clearing the ball when needed and stopping the QPR crosses yet, like many of the Chelsea defenders and its keeper, had a rather uneventful day. Although he did have a strike at goal that hit QPR defender Clint Hill that might have resulted in a penalty. He was subbed out for Hutchinson in the 82'.
Ashley Cole: 7.0
He tackled when necessary and initiated the counter attack after a turnover. Cole played the entire match.
Paulo Ferreira: 6.0
While Ferreira played well enough, he was Chelsea's worst defender. He did have a decent looking attempt down the side of the field for a cross, but it was easily dealt with by the QPR defenders.
Midfielders
3 of 5Frank Lamaprd: 7.5
Chelsea's midfield maestro played a crucial role in their dominating match. Not only was he always on the ball when it came to the counter attack, he initiated quite a number of them.
Michael Essein: 7.0
Lampard's partner in crime, Essein helped control the midfield for the Blues. While he could have been booked for a late tackle on Cisse early in the first half, he improved in the latter half of the match, playing the rest of the match.
Salomon Kalou: 6.5
While he did send in the cross for Torres's first goal of the match, Kalou was subbed out in the 74' for Ramires after failing to create any more chances on goal.
Daniel Sturridge: 7.5
He scored the first goal of the match after just 46 seconds. It was a beauty indeed. Off the run, he struck one right into the left side of the goal. Although, luck was on his side. Lampard's head was directly in the line of the shot. He barely had enough time to duck before the ball came screeching past. While this was his only goal, he was a constant threat and played very well.
Forwards
4 of 5Fernando Torres: 9.0 (Man of the Match)
Torres has come back swinging. After dealing with harsh criticism from fans and peers alike about his failure to score, he netted his first hat trick for Chelsea. After coming off his game-tying goal against heavy favorites Barcelona, the pressure to score again was on his shoulders. He did not choke. Even though he scored three fantastic goals, he had multiple opportunities that he did not optimize.
Juan Mata: 8.5
Torres's partner in crime, Mata had two assists before he was subbed out for Malouda in the 68'. He was constantly sprinting up the side of the pitch to cross the ball to Torres. QPR captain Joey Barton hit Mata with a very dirty tackle that was left unbooked. Barton was reluctant to give the ball over until he was booed by the crowd. Chelsea's lead playmaker had a terrific showing today. Hopefully, he will continue to amaze.
Substitutions
5 of 5Florent Malouda: 6.5
While the Frenchman did score Chelsea's sixth goal of the game, he had more then one opportunity to do so. He gave the ball away too easily at the end of the match.
Ramires: 7.0
Played well when he was on, including the stylish cross to Malouda. Ramires, while he did not start the match, looks like one of Chelsea's up and coming stars.
Sam Hutchinson: N/A
Came in late for Bosingwa; he did not have an impact on the match.
