What a day for the top two prospects in baseball.

After Bryce Harper was called up earlier in the day on Friday, Mike Trout was then called up by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Entering Friday night, Trout was hitting .403 for Triple-A Salt Lake with four doubles, five triples, a home run and six stolen bases.

Trout will take the place of Bobby Abreu who was released earlier in the day.

The Angels are off to an abysmal start and simply could not wait any longer to call up Trout. L.A. is 6-14 through their first 20 games of the season and could use the services of Trout immediately.

Trout will contribute on Saturday when the Angels face the Cleveland Indians.

This is exactly what the struggling Angels needed to do at this point of the season.

They needed a spark and they will get it on Saturday.
