You Want To Hear a Funny Joke? Stephon Marbury
I'm really not a huge NBA fan at all. I watch it occasionally when Kobe or the Celtics are playing, but that's about it.
I hardly ever find the time to write about the NBA.
But I have time for this article.
Stephon Marbury.
A man who has done more than just ruin his reputation as a player. In fact, I don't even look at the man as a player anymore.
Wait. Did I refer to Stephon Marbury as a man? I apologize. I really didn't try to do that.
Marbury has posted 20.0 points per game in eight of his 12 seasons in the NBA. He's also dished out 7.0-plus assists per game in a season on 10 different occasions.
He was the fourth overall pick in the '96 draft. He was drafted before Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Jermaine O' Neal, and Ray Allen. He's a two-time NBA All-Star.
He's also a joke, getting paid $21 million to sit on the sidelines and watch.
He is the biggest disgrace to a sport I've ever seen. He has ruined the New York Knicks and, more importantly (since it's always about him), he has ruined his own reputation forever.
To quote another article, he is the "highest-paid towel boy in sports history." He is just another example of a spoiled athlete who doesn't care about the integrity of the game.
He obviously doesn't want to play the game he once loved, and even if says he does, he's lying. He has made it clear he doesn't.
Ever hear of the Greek team Olympiacos? Neither have I. And guess what? They don't want him, either.
He's acted like a kid, so I'm going to refer to him as one.
When Marbury gets his passion back and shows a little enthusiasm, I'll lay off. Until then, he will go down in my book as perhaps the biggest disgrace to ever play the game.
