Time Is Up for Robbie Keane
In the summer, most of us Liverpool fans thought that the final piece in our jigsaw puzzle had been complete when we signed Robbie Keane from Tottenham for 20 million pounds. I was very ecstatic and could not stop bragging to the Manchester United supporters that we had finally gotten the man who would partner up with Fernando Torres and bang in a hat-full of goals as we race to win the Premiership.
Having see Keane have a great season for Spurs alongside Berbatov, I was very confident that he would not take a long time to strike a great partnership with Torres. So in comes Keane and his is given the famous No. 7 jersey at Liverpool. It was all set up perfectly but our dreams were shattered and it does not look like they will be repaired any time soon.

Keane failed to score in his first couple of games for Liverpool and we all hoped that the moment he gets his first goal, the floodgates would open and he will go on a goal scoring spree. I recall he got his first goal in a Champions League game and he wheeled off and did his trade mark cartwheel celebration. I could not help it but also do the same celebration in the confounds of my lounge, that is how glad I was he had gotten off the mark.
But from then on out the Keane goals came few and far between and his last goal, the wonder strike against Arsenal dip not even raise me up and think that Keane has finally broken the drought. His attitude has been poor in games. He is always sulking when he gets subbed off. He just does not seem like the player we had hoped for and for that reason I feel it is time for him to go.
On Monday night he was dropped by Rafa from the squad to take on Everton and he ran off and started to sulk and never came to watch the game.
I think we should just write it off as a bad signing and try and recoup as much of that 20 million that we spent. If we get even 15 million back I will be happy.
The Keane and Torres partnership has just not worked and we have to stick with the Gerrard and Torres partnership if we want to win the league. If Gerrard and Torres remain fit for the rest of the season, I am sure Liverpool will be crowned champions of England for the 19th time.
Thanks for trying Keane but it is time for you to bounce!
