Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich: Spanish Clubs Choke Away Champions League
Two of the biggest rivals in the world had a chance to meet on the largest stage, but neither Real Madrid nor Barcelona were able to reach the Champions League Final.
The two Spanish clubs met a week ago in league play, with Real Madrid coming up on top 2-1.
This match effectively ended Barcelona's chance at winning La Liga, but the squad saw a chance of redemption on a much bigger stage.

Each team reached the semifinal of the Champions League, and wins over Chelsea and Bayern Munich would have pitted two of the most storied programs in the world against one other in the League final for the first time in history.
Unfortunately, it was not meant to be.
First, Barcelona seemed like they were on their way past Chelsea after taking a 2-1 lead that would even up the aggregate score.
It was not enough, however, and the man-down squad was able to come through with a final goal in the 90th minute to send Barca packing.
A day later, Real Madrid could not close out Bayern Munich on penalty kicks.
With some of the best scorers in the world, there should have been no question which team was coming away with a victory.
However, both Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo had their shots saved by goalie Manuel Neuer. Sergio Ramos did not even hit the net.
Bayern Munich had no such trouble finding the goal and they will now play a home game in the finals.
This was a great opportunity for each team to take control of the sport, but this will end up being a disappointing year for both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
