Cristiano Ronaldo Says He Misses Manchester United

Christopher HallApr 24, 2012

Cristiano Ronaldo is on top of the world at the moment with Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.

His team is in the semifinal of the Champions League, he leads the race for the Pichichi in Spain and it's almost a certainty that Madrid will win La Liga, given their seven point lead with only four games remaining.

But that isn't stopping the Portuguese star from reminiscing fondly about his time with Sir Alex Ferguson. In an interview for their new issue, Ronaldo told Zoo Magazine that he misses Manchester United, according to The Sun.

"I speak with Sir Alex sometimes and of course I miss Manchester," Ronaldo said. "It felt like I left a family back there because I spent six years with all those guys...so of course I miss them."

United fans should avoid holding their breath for his return. It turns out, as much as Ronaldo misses his former manager and teammates, he misses something else even more...dessert.

"I especially miss the apple crumble and custard they served at Carrington after training," Ronaldo enthused. "It was amazing!"

Ronaldo spent six seasons at Old Trafford before leaving for Real Madrid in the summer of 2009.

United fans can next catch their former star in action on Wednesday when he leads Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich.

Los Blancos are hoping the home crowd at the Bernabeu can help them overturn a 2-1 aggregate deficit from the first leg.
