Suns Need to Look Toward Future

The Phoenix Suns are finished. Their season is over, and their future doesn't look so bright either.

Last year's team should have won the NBA championship, if it wasn't for Amare Stodamire's suspension. They looked great last year in the playoffs. They played the best team basketball, and they had all the pieces intact to take down the all and mighty Spurs. The Suns were a great team, until now.

Alright, first and foremost, the worst addition to the suns family hasn't even been a player—it has been Steve Kerr. Now don't get me wrong, Steve seems like a great guy, and he was a sharp shooter back in the day, but seriously what is he smokin'.

You know you'd think the guy would know something about the game, but it has been clear thus far that he has absolutely no knowledge whatsoever about the game he's lived his entire life around. Steve has basically came into the front office of an up-tempo Suns team and added pieces that don't mix in the blender.

Adding Grant Hill made no sense. He doesn't shoot threes, which the Suns love to do. The man was quite the athletic specimen at Duke and in his younger years of the NBA, but the man is old and he has had what seems like a dozen knee surgeries.

I mean seriously Steve—an aging, injury prone, medium range shooter is a piece that just doesn't fit the puzzle, anybody can see that. They should of re-signed Kurt Thomas.

Now, quite possibly the dumbest front office move in the history of all sports: Shaq for Shawn Marion.

Lets play Steve Wonders—Steve wants to know why an overweight, over the hill, big man would fit in a fast, up tempo, style of game. Answer:Well Steve I will just keep you wondering.

Man seriously lets trade our most athletic player who happens to be our best defender for an injured, out-of-shape Shaq. I will say it again Steve, what are you smokin' man.

This trade made no sense on any level. Shaq can barely make it down the floor, let alone run down the floor every trip.

So basically the Suns are in trouble, and not just this year, their future is looking quite dim as well. This year it now looks as if Steve Nash has lost a step. You can totally see his game beginning to diminish especially when he goes against the elite guards, such as Chris Paul.

He is turning the ball over like crazy, and he looks slower. Now, combining Nash's diminishing game with the additions of Shaq and Hill, you got a bad team with no hope of a future. The only player looking good for the suns right now is Amare. The man is an absolute beast.

Suggestions for the Suns—send Kerr back to TNT bumping elbows with Marv Albert, and start rebuilding around Amare. Get young again.
