MLB Betting Odds: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles

Jeff GrantJun 3, 2018

The Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles will open up a three-game American League series on Tuesday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 ET.

Las Vegas oddsmakers have opened up the Blue Jays as -125 road favorites, while the total stands at nine, but is receiving downward pressure in the betting market.

Toronto dropped two of three against Baltimore when hosting them inside the Rogers Centre from April 13-15, and all three went "over" the posted total.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Henderson Alvarez (0-1, 4.66 ERA) was on the losing end of a 6-4 decision in the middle game of that series, surrendering three runs and six hits over seven frames.  He has tallied a 1-0 mark and 2.45 ERA in three career starts versus the Orioles, issuing just two walks in 22 combined frames.

Sports bettors will find that the Blue Jays are 13-3 in their last 16 games as a road favorite, while the "over" is 3-1-2 in the last six games in that situation.

Baltimore returns home after splitting its 10-game road trip, which included a 3-2 series-finale win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon. The club is 19-21 when playing after an off day over the last two-plus years.

The Orioles are just 3-3 at home this season, sweeping a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins to begin the 2012 campaign, but then falling victim to the broom versus the New York Yankees.

Tommy Hunter (1-1, 5.79 ERA) will make his fourth start of the season, coming off a dismal road performance in dropping an 8-1 decision to the Chicago White Sox, giving up eight runs and nine hits over 5.2 innings.

The right-hander has made nine career appearances (seven starts) against the Blue Jays, going 1-3 with a 6.65 ERA, which includes a no-decision effort in a 7-5 road win on April 13. He served up four home runs in six frames in that effort.

The Orioles are 5-1 in Hunter's last six starts as a home underdog, while the "over" is 5-0-1 in that situation.

Weather forecasts are suggesting mostly cloudy skies and game-time temperatures in the mid-50s, with a westerly breeze of 10-15 mph throughout the game (out to right).
