Hopkins vs. Dawson: Bad Chad's Quest for Revenge Will Be Thwarted by B-Hop
Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson will square off in a rematch this Saturday in Atlantic City, and when it's all said and done, the elder Hopkins will retain his light heavyweight title belt.
They say age is just a number, and the 47-year-old Hopkins is going to prove it this weekend. Dawson, who is only 29, is seeking revenge for his last fight, which was also against Hopkins.
At first, Dawson won the match via TKO because Hopkins was unable to continue. It was later ruled a no-contest because "Bad Chad" threw "B-Hop" to the ground, separating his shoulder and thus ending the fight.
Despite his age, Hopkins continues to fight, and it's no secret that he wants to destroy Dawson, especially considering how their last bout ended.
Dawson still has room to grow and develop as a fighter, but he's certainly come on strong in recent years. This Saturday, though, Hopkins will put Dawson in his place, showing that age doesn't matter.
With his tremendous amount of experience and superb boxing skills, Hopkins will battle Dawson long and hard, but in the end, the old man will get the job done.
Because of Hopkins' age and how the match was going last October, Dawson likely feels as if he has this in the bag. That's far from the truth, as "B-Hop" is in great shape and ready to take "Bad Chad" down.
Expect this boxing match to be intense throughout, with both fighters keeping pace with each other. However, as the fight presses on to the later rounds, Hopkins will put the finishing blows on Dawson and remain the champ.
