Scouting Report

Strengths

He's an absolute monster in the running game and can explode people off the ball. He has the athleticism to pull and run screens as well. He's a heavy framed, agile player who has starting potential in the NFL and four years of college experience.

He's able to play both sides of the line and has started both sides on the ball in college. He gets good body position in pass protection and can use his power to absorb a bull rush. He's a team captain and one of those guys that every coach would want to have.

Weaknesses

His footwork and technique leave a lot to be desired but it would be interesting to see how he does with a true NFL-level offensive line coach. Compton's punch also needs to be improved as it is much weaker than it should be at this point in his development.

Overview

Compton is a guy who has all the physical gifts but needs some coaching at the next level. He's projected as a fourth to fifth round pick but could end up much higher if a coach falls in love with his potential.

How he would fit into the Falcons' plans

Compton would be a mid- to late- round pick and could end up as the starting left tackle for the Falcons within the first year of his career. Compton has long-term starting possibilities for Atlanta with his athleticism and his experience on both sides of the line.
