UFC 145 Results: Jon Jones Will Ride Momentum to Easy Victory over Dan Henderson

Richard LangfordJun 5, 2018

Jon Jones' personal victory tour picked up steam on Saturday night at UFC 145, and now it is ready to speed up.

Next for Jones is a bout with Dan Henderson, and it will be more smooth sailing for the champ as he dismantles the rugged veteran.

If there was any doubt that Jones would be able to defeat Henderson, he erased it on Saturday night. Going against former champ Rashad Evans, Jones proved he had no equals.

Evans was able to go the distance, but this fight was never really in doubt. In the end, Jones won a unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 50-45).

After the fight, Dana White confirmed that Henderson was up next for the champ. Henderson will be a nice test for Jones, but in the end, he is far too limited to handle Jones.

Henderson, 41, is one of the sport's all-time greats. He has been succeeding for a long time, and time has not eroded his skills, as he has won seven of his last eight fights.

Henderson has succeeded by excelling in the clinch and taking and delivering big blows. His proficiency with the standing clinch is one of the big reasons that that technique is as prominent as it is in the sport.

He has also not lost anything off of his power. Henderson packs a wallop with his blows. He can knock an opponent out with one blow at any moment.

Still, he will never have that moment against Jones because Bones has proven that he is far too skilled and crafty to leave himself open to that kind of attack. Also, Jones is strong in the clinch. Henderson will not be able to gain an advantage on him in that area.

Henderson will not be an easy out, but he will never be in control of this fight, and he will lose in a unanimous decision.
